If inmates get parole, I don't see why forum members shouldn't get a probationary period—give him a trial run, and if he starts acting up—which, let’s be honest, is unlikely—you can always slap him with a ban later 🤷

To be clear, this doesn't apply to those who are blatantly abusive or making threats; those people belong straight in the ban corner 🙂

Elizabeth Anderson63 said:Look, if prisoners get parole, why shouldn't forum users? Just give him a probationary period. You can always toss him into the ban corner if he starts acting up again... and honestly, I don't think he will. 🤷

Obviously, this doesn't apply to the people who were being straight-up abusive, making threats, and all that crap. Send them an abuse report immediately. 🙂

Yeah, well, I bet they're digging for insults right now, but they won't find anything. Every single one of his alt accounts gets banned just like the original permanent ban, for no reason at all... 🤷

But seriously, what about the other side that was tearing users apart? 😉
Are they getting the abuse reports too? ☕

🤣 🤣
I’m not trying to be difficult—I promised I’d behave 🙂

Let’s not turn this thread into a spam fest, rustydrifter10. Go ask the admins if they can give FictionSmith a trial period. If things go south, you can always toss him into the ban corner 🤷
The guy clearly loves this forum and wants to contribute. If he hasn't actually insulted anyone or made threats, why not give him a fair shake? 🙂

And here I go again—being a total nuisance about these debates 😢 🙂

edit: You’ve got a point, rustydrifter10; move those posts over there 🙂

If someone gets hit with a permanent ban, there’s probably a damn good reason for it 🤷

I don't see why anyone would bother giving them another shot; they had plenty of chances before the ban finally kicked in ☕

The whole forum is gone, just a massive permanent ban. I mean, if that isn't some kind of cosmic joke, I don't know what is. ☕

I’m all for pulling the permission from FictionSmith.
Look, I used to be one of those permitted users—and while I haven't been following his posts religiously—his main "offense" was basically just creating burner accounts to bypass bans.
Honestly, if there isn't any harassment or constant swearing at everyone in sight, I don't see why he shouldn't be reinstated. I mean, I’d actually love to hear a specific explanation for this. 🤷

There was honestly a massive debate about whether or not to lift his ban, but it wasn't just about the fact that he kept making endless clones; it was also about how he actually behaved once he got back under those new accounts. As far as I can tell, he just keeps creating new profiles over and over again, which is a pretty huge red flag that he has absolutely no intention of changing his ways. That’s just the conclusion I landed on after spending quite a bit of time deliberating over the whole situation.

rustydrifter10 said:There was actually a ton of debate about lifting his ban, but it’s not just about him making endless burner accounts—it’s also about how he carries himself while using them. From what I can tell, he keeps spinning up new profiles constantly, which is pretty much a dead giveaway that he has zero intention of changing his ways. That’s just my takeaway after sitting through a lot of back-and-forth regarding him.

Look, I'll be real with you, I used to hang out with him over on BB so I know the deal: every single one of those burner accounts sounded exactly like his original
handle, and he never even tried to hide it. Every new account gets nuked specifically for ban evasion, not because of
what he's actually posting.

As long as this site operates on double standards and the mods keep looking the other way when their "favorites" start cloning themselves,
he’s gonna keep doing it. If anyone wants to show they actually have the willpower to change things, it should be the admins and mods who
keep letting their golden boys slide.

I find myself asking the same thing over and over again, both to you and the rest of the mod team:
seriously, please just tell me, are we all equal here as members of this American forum? And if we aren't, who gets more leeway?
And why?

I think it’s time we finally put this whole thing to bed once and for all.

fictionSmith is permanently banned, and that's just how it is. We've dissected his case a million times already and the final call has been made. Honestly, there's no point in going in circles trying to explain it again.

I’m asking nicely—please stop starting new threads about him or why he got the boot.

Thanks.
