Which mousepad should I get?

Yo, I'm new here and have been stuck on one question for a while now.
I'm a gamer, so obviously my mouse matters—but honestly, isn't the mousepad just as important?
Up until now, I’ve been using some Logitech wireless junk (wasn't even cheap, either) and a dictionary as a mousepad, which somehow worked. Now I'm looking to upgrade and decided on the Razer DeathAdder. I wanted to grab a matching mousepad from the same brand, but they seem impossible to find online—they used to be at Best Buy, but now they're gone. So, can I pair this mouse with a Razer mousepad? Or am I forced to buy both from the same brand to make them work together?

PS: I'm set on getting the Guardian, so let me know which pad combos actually work well with it..

Look, you can grab pretty much any mousepad you want, but honestly, the Razer DeathAdder performs best when you pair it with something a bit more textured—so maybe skip those super smooth cloth ones if you want actual control. The Razer Goliathus works fine with that mouse, just keep in mind there are actually two different versions out there depending on how much friction you want: the "speed" version is smoother, while the "control" one has that extra grip.
