I can't shake the feeling that Fernando really should have been fighting Jenson for the win today—unfortunately, he made just a few too many mistakes. All things considered, though, taking 3rd place is still a fantastic result.

It’s like the McLaren strategists🤣 were borrowed straight from Ferrari🤣!

Buemi + 15🙏

I was actually wondering why nobody seems to be giving him any credit...😁 He truly did an incredible job out there. 🙏 But anyway, what do you all think—which car is performing better, STR or Sauber? 🤷 I have this nagging feeling that STR has some serious potential, it's just that their drivers rarely seem to know how to tap into it properly.
As for Hamilton and those strategists 🤦
... Neither Rosberg nor Brawn really made a mark today, either.
Gumb 🙏
Vettel: I'm not a huge fan of his driving style or his recent tactics lately... which is why I'd love to see someone in the pack overtake him, whether it's Alonso or Hamilton. 😬

Best part of my day right here.🤣

Those yellows were faster today. Period. 😉

Congrats to Jenson Button 🙏

There were only two rain-soaked races at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and he walked away with the win both times... quite a feat 😁

Sebastian Vettel—just the usual, predictable stuff from him

Lewis Hamilton—honestly, I was just waiting for that head-to-head showdown between him and the track itself (kind of like what we saw at Silverstone)... he drove beautifully, but man, it’s incredible how one disastrously bad strategy call can just completely wreck a result

Fernando Alonso—didn't really blow me away, but hey, a podium is a podium

analogpilot16 said:I feel for Lewis... that spin was on him, strictly speaking, but the team really let him down with those tactics. Still, he proved once again that when it comes to overtaking, he's in a league of his own—he's easily the best driver out there right now, a true 'racer.' He cleared out everyone in his way—Alonso, Mark Webber, Sebastian Vettel, and Jenson Button. It was a total masterclass. It's just a shame it might be too little, too late for this season

I'm with you on all counts

Watching him drive is such a treat... he is hands down the best when it comes to those one-on-one battles, that much is certain

analogpilot16 said:Big congrats to Jenson Button, though I'd say he lacks that extra edge of aggression—that bit of extra gear. He seems to only snatch wins like this when everything aligns perfectly for him; otherwise, he tends to fade into the background

Jenson Button is just such an intelligent driver... he might not have that raw, blistering pace that Lewis possesses, but he makes up for it with his tactical mind. He knows how to wait for the opening, how to read the track, the conditions, and the other drivers—which is exactly why he consistently shines when things get chaotic

I'm calling it—McLaren is still the better ride, but they were totally off their game during this race. On the flip side, Aston Martin actually blew past expectations. If you ask me, right now McLaren and Aston Martin are neck and neck, and I’d even go as far as saying they've actually overtaken Ford. STR is trailing behind all of them (not by much, but still).

Look, in my book, Alonso (rightfully) spent most of his time stuck in the shadow of those two McLarens, but you can't deny he drove an absolute masterclass today. I mean, look at the finish—he absolutely smoked Mark Webber, pulling out a massive thirty-second gap even though he started on those super-softs while Webber jumped straight onto the hards. Pure class.

If only we could see them breaking into those top two rows more frequently😢

Wait, didn't Webber mess up by switching to intermediates? That’s probably why he lost the gap, right?

Look, I don't know, man. I honestly can't recall. I wasn't even paying that much attention since he wasn't really fighting for the lead. 😁Now that you bring it up, maybe he did, but I have zero clue.

ESPN will probably give us the full breakdown soon enough. 😁

Keith Rodriguez27 said:Actually, I don't quite recall that—to be honest, I wasn't really following him closely because of where he sat in the standings at the time. 😁 Now that you mention it, it’s possible, but I honestly can't say for sure.

I'm sure Rilke will give us an update soon. 😁

Yup, they went to intermediates, and then Lewis Hamilton switched to them right after.

Alright, thanks. 🙂

This totally changes how you look at Alonso's performance 😁, but whatever, he played the hand he was dealt. Honestly, I think it was a pretty solid weekend for him, especially since the McLarens were clearly running circles around Ferrari here.

He was talking about the rest of the drivers; everyone was coming up to congratulate him, acting all friendly...

btw... the two most interesting races of the season and Jenson Button won both... ☕

cosmichawk12 said:watching him drive is pure entertainment, honestly, he’s hands down the absolute king when it comes to head-to-head combat on the track, no question about it.

the guy just goes full throttle like a complete maniac every single time, sometimes he sends it and knocks someone out, other times he pulls it off perfectly, but I’m pretty sure the rest of the field avoids getting too aggressive with him just because they're terrified of getting wrecked in a scrap.😳
