Chloe Green61 said:The most absurd part of this entire charade is that Cookie and wanderingbadger44 are fully aware of the situation, and we’re all aware they know. And they know perfectly well that we know they know.

Look, what I'm actually trying to get at is why sarcasm and banter used to be welcomed here—even during serious discussions—whereas nowadays, it’s often treated like a crime. And honestly, I haven't figured out the logic behind it. Are people who lack the ability to construct a coherent argument simply incapable of setting up a Blocker, making them more likely to click on ads than the folks who just happen to use a little intelligent wit?

Linda Price5 said:Furthermore, this thread is already twenty-four pages deep. It’s packed with an enormous volume of questions and answers. If this were a discussion about using headphones where it had been explained nineteen different times that you actually put them in your ears—and then someone showed up asking why they couldn't hear anything after shoving them into their belly button, only for someone else to reply that the headphones were faulty—would they get banned just because that poor soul is now off to buy some new navel-based headphones?

But really, do you absolutely have to wait until page twenty-five of this specific thread to post about shoving things into a belly button or... elsewhere? 🤷
You know fine well that this is a topic where confused kids test out nonsense, and those kinds of comments aren't permitted here. You also know that if a thread like that were opened on Reddit, it would be absolutely flooded with trolls. Which is perfectly fine, honestly. It really just comes down to the specific platform where you choose to post.

Don't try to make this sound trivial. I already laid out exactly why this topic—and those other two pinned threads—get their own special status here. Take it or leave it.

Linda Price5 said:Look, here's what I'm getting at: why was joking around actually okay on this Reddit back in the day—even when things got heavy—but now everyone acts like you can't have a sense of humor? I don't get it. Is it because people who can't actually defend an opinion don't know how to set up a Blocker, so they just end up clicking on ads more than the smart asses who use sarcasm to make a point?

Most of your posts aren't even funny anymore. Your quality tanked. That's just how it goes, I guess. This place swallows people whole. 🙂

Chloe Green61 said:Look, Al, is it really necessary for you to drag this entire thread down to page 25 just to insist that they shove it up their ass? 🤷
Look, you have to understand that this is one of those topics where confused kids go looking for nonsense, and frankly, that kind of behavior isn't tolerated here. You also know that if a thread like this were opened on Reddit, it would be absolutely crawling with trolls. Which, honestly? That’s fine by me. At the end of the day, it all just comes down to the venue you choose to post in.

I recall there was once this old rule of thumb: if you have enough coordination to shove something into something else, then you certainly have enough sense to drive to the doctor or a pharmacy and ask if you're pregnant. Smart ass. 😍

So, what, were we assuming the target demographic had an IQ of at least 88? 😁

Linda Price5 said:Look, my question is: why was being a bit of a smart ass actually welcomed here once—even on serious threads—when now it’s mostly frowned upon? I honestly don't get it. Is it because people who can't back up an argument don't know how to set up Blocker, so they end up clicking ads more often than the guys who just use a little wit to make a point?

I still remember 1993, using dial-up modems (back before any decent Bulletin Board Systems existed) and those few hundred university access points scattered across major cities like New York, Chicago, or LA. By 2000, things had shifted massively. Around 2004, we saw this new generation arrive—the "I need internet right now" crowd... and the web definitely wasn't the same anymore. Now, in 2011, nothing is what it used to be. Not the internet, not this forum, not the climate, not even our values. Fighting it all feels like tilting at windmills.

Linda Price5 said:You know, what I’ve been chewing on lately is this nagging sense of why things have shifted so much. There was a time when a little bit of irreverence—a bit of good-natured ribbing, even during the heavy discussions—was actually welcomed here. It gave the place soul, you know? But nowadays, it feels like that kind of levity is increasingly frowned upon. It’s as if we’ve lost that ability to balance the serious stuff with a bit of wit.

Pranks and general messing around aren't exactly welcome everywhere, and that’s really the crux of the matter. As I’ve mentioned before, there are certain corners of the internet—certain subreddits, if you will—where you can troll and stir the pot to your heart's content without anyone batting an eye. But I find myself genuinely perplexed by certain individuals. Why do people feel this sudden, frantic urge to act like unleashed dogs in environments where they know, quite clearly, their behavior isn't tolerated? And then, once they inevitably face the consequences, they have the audacity to whine about it? Now, don't get me wrong—I'm certainly not pointing that finger at you.

I have absolutely no clue what that smart ass was up to, but apparently, any thread asking if someone is still pregnant keeps getting nuked or sanctioned. Honestly, what a load of crap.

wiredfalcon2 said:Why on earth do we find ourselves scrolling through threads that clearly irritate us, only to end up typing out responses to posts that genuinely make our blood boil? It’s a peculiar little habit, isn't it? I often catch myself doing it—falling down a rabbit hole of negativity, feeling my pulse quicken, and then thinking, "Yes, I absolutely must provide a measured, logical rebuttal to this nonsense." It feels like a bit of a self-inflicted wound most days. 🙂 If it bothers you that much, then honestly, just don't do it. Otherwise, you're just coming across as a bored, bitter woman who's clearly overcompensating for her own insecurities—and frankly, being a bit of a bully toward some kids. It’s quite a stretch to hijack a topic that actually served a vital purpose by helping so many people avoid unwanted pregnancies, all just to satisfy your own personal agenda. 🙂

And xxxxx... honestly, I really ought to drop a few pounds before summer rolls around. 🙂 Go run a lap or something. Stop trolling this Reddit thread just so you can whine about how nobody likes you; that’s not exactly how cool girls behave. That’s more along the lines of some attention-seeking idiot. Don't be one of them. 🙂

Here is a classic troll for you. This guy couldn't care less about the Clorox discussions on Reddit; he’s only here because he's obsessed with xxxxxxxx's backside. Truly top-tier gear you've got there, my friend.

wiredfalcon2 said:Why bother reading a thread you hate and replying to posts that just piss you off? 🙂

I usually dive into this thread purely out of good faith, which should be evident by my attempt to explain that you can't treat bacterial infections with antifungal cream. It seems like basic logic, but clearly, fundamental education is failing us—including seventh-grade biology. Some people simply have no one to turn to. Others are too embarrassed to ask. There are even cases where someone might get a beating from their father for visiting a gynecologist because, in certain circles, those doctors are viewed as nothing more than lowlifes. Then you have the practitioners who are completely incompetent and indifferent, treating Chlamydia with Johnson & Johnson products (I've heard of at least one such instance). And then there are those who simply don't know how to use a search engine.

That specific post didn't anger me; it was actually quite amusing. 🙂

You're coming across like a bitter woman who's bored, overweight, and deeply insecure.

And if xxxxx, you really could drop a few pounds before summer arrives. 🙂 Go run a lap instead of trolling this site just so you can whine about being unloved; that's not what cool girls do, that's what attention-seeking idiots do. Don't be one of them. 🙂

The point is: if I want to troll while pretending to be incredibly dim-witted, should I just apply to be a moderator so I can do it without consequences and feel smug about how "cool" I am? 😁

wanderingbadger44@ said:What I'm wondering now is, since Linda Price5 is being such a total crybaby about the forum rules—rules that I'm pretty sure apply to you too—would you actually get banned for a post like this?

Nah, you wouldn't. The mods laid everything out perfectly clearly and calmly, but you two just keep acting like idiots. You got straight answers to your questions; anything beyond that is just pure spam and trolling.

Just apologize for the nonsense and move on. Stop wasting everyone's time with this stupidity. 🙂

Prile, you hit the nail on the head. Everything you said was spot on, exactly how it should be. 🙏 🙏 🙏

Linda Price5 said:I usually hang around this thread just out of the goodness of my heart, which is probably obvious since I’m constantly having to explain that you don't treat bacterial infections with fungal meds. It should be common sense, right? But honestly, basic education is a joke these days—including that middle school biology they teach us. Some people just have nobody to ask. Others are too embarrassed to ask. And then there are those who’d get a beating from their old man if they actually went to a gynecologist to ask real questions, because apparently, in their world, doctors are just hookers. Or some doctors are just total hacks who don't give a damn and try treating chlamydia with Johnson & Johnson. I even heard about one case. Plus, some people just don't know how to use Google.

That post didn't piss me off; it was actually kind of funny. 🙂

All that's great and all, but it doesn't exempt you from the rules of this thread. Seriously, next time you feel the urge to post just because you got banned—don't. Just don't. Everyone will be happier. Suck it up for once. 🙂

No, honey, I actually labeled you as a complete and utter moron who mistakenly believes they're "cool" while being absolutely pathetic. There is a significant distinction there. 🙂

It is truly unfortunate that you seem just intelligent enough to avoid being a total idiot. But no. If it’s all the same to you... 😍

So, what you're basically saying with this post is that if you provide a reason for a ban, you're somehow entitled, as a moderator, to call a female user a fat, insecure attention-seeking idiot?

How precious!

How charming.

Mind you, I didn't even ask for an explanation regarding the ban. 😁 It seems reading comprehension is a bit of a struggle for you, isn't it? 😍
