So, about two weeks ago, I managed to break my elbow—and now I’m really curious to hear about your experiences...
To be specific, the doctor diagnosed it as a fracture of the radial head or perhaps the ulnar styloid without any displacement in the joint itself, though there was some minor cracking on the side as well, but let's not get bogged down in the weeds regarding that part...
Since I'm scheduled to have this brace removed on the 21st—which marks four and a half weeks since the break—and I'm planning to head out on vacation by the 22nd, I'd love to know what you all went through. What was the recovery process actually like after the fracture? How did it feel once the brace or cast finally came off and you actually moved your arm again??
What kind of physical therapy did you have to undergo, assuming you had to go that route?

Also, please don't confuse my situation with a Colles' fracture.

Even after you finally get that cast off, you’re still looking at at least another four weeks of rehab to get back to 100%.

Are you some kind of doctor?? Or have you just dealt with this exact same scenario before?
Look, if "full rehabilitation" means waiting until the bone is 100% perfectly fused back to its original state... well, I don't actually need to wait that long, since my serious training sessions aren't scheduled to start for a while anyway. My real concern is more about the lifestyle stuff—casual swimming, hanging out by the beach, etc.—and how much mobility and strength I'll actually have in my arm when dealing with light contact or basic movement.

So, the doctor—an orthopedic specialist—basically told me that right after this cast comes off, my elbow is gonna be super stiff. I won't see any (almost) full range of motion until I put in at least 4 weeks of solid rehab.
