Jason Martinez34 said:What is actually going on? This whole circus involving Kopljar is impossible to miss. Every single time he touches the ball—it’s just pure chaos. 👋

I can't stand watching his ball handling. It’s painful. And don't even get me started on that shot.
The goalie couldn't catch a cold if he tried.

Since Goluza is such a visionary and a preeminent expert who certainly won't allow the street or this forum to dictate his roster decisions, I suppose I’ll just appreciate Kopljar playing at least one decent half.
To the satisfaction of all the fans in Poland...

I can only hope Slafko pulls another surprise out of his magic hat.
The defensive schemes based on Goluza's brilliance will likely be studied in handball academies for years. How opponents slice right through our 6-0 defense, or how we fail to create an advantage even when playing with a man up—that'll be a specialized course at kinesiology departments in countries that actually care about the sport.
Those focused on offensive plays will probably complain again about how a team this tactically literate can't capitalize on a numerical advantage, instead finishing attacks right through the middle.
I'm genuinely curious what our conversion rate is when playing with an extra man, how often we actually exploit it, and specifically how our stats look against heavy hitters like Denmark, Sweden, or Mexico...

Anyway, I'm hoping for a win, but given the performance we showed against the "heavier" teams, the mental state of the players on the court—not to mention the coaching staff—we don't have much reason to be optimistic.

And honestly, how much long-term optimism can one have with this GG duo and their questionable intentions?

To the satisfaction of all the Poland fans out there...

I’m holding out hope that Slafko might pull yet another "gem" out of his magic hat of surprises.
In all likelihood, handball academies will be studying this new defensive approach based on the principles of Goluza's genius. The way opponents slice right through our 6-0 defense, or how we somehow find ourselves at a disadvantage even when playing with a man advantage—that's going to be a specialized course taught at kinesiology departments in countries that actually take handball seriously.
Those focused on offensive plays will likely be scratching their heads again, wondering how a team as tactically literate as ours fails to create a numerical advantage when playing with an extra man, instead constantly finishing attacks right through the middle.
I am genuinely curious about our conversion rate when we have a man advantage—how often did we actually capitalize on it? And specifically, what do our statistics look like in that department against heavyweights like Denmark, Sweden, or Mexico?

Ultimately, I want a win, but given the level of play we showed against the "heavier" teams, combined with the mental state of the players on the court—not to mention the so-called coaching staff—there isn't much reason for optimism.

And honestly, how much long-term optimism can we even have with this GG duo and their questionable intentions?

If we actually pull off a win today, I fear for the long haul.

...and I guess more importantly, how many times did we just completely fall apart?

I suppose so... though that's only if we play without Kopljar and Duvnjak, those sensitive souls who probably wouldn't dream of chipping their manicure mid-game.

Yeah, sure, Duvnjak’s a total pushover—I mean, the guy is playing in the toughest league on the planet, holding it down on both offense and defense, and he even managed to claw his way back after that brutal injury...

But yeah, totally a coward...🤦

Yeah, I mean, it’s almost funny how suddenly Duvnjak has just become a total liability on the court, isn't it? 🤣

One more hour to go. Hang in there.

A wimp, right? No doubt he’s got massive talent, just lacks the guts. And what "serious injury"? Give me a medical diagnosis, please.
And you, Mr. Know-It-All—how come nobody ever hired you to coach? Since you’re clearly such an expert, you at least must have coached some national team by now, maybe somewhere like Switzerland.

I don't know, Duvnjak was never really "world-class." He's a solid player, sure, but nothing special. Honestly, he only got picked up by HSV because he had one decent run while playing in the local league back home.

If they can just hang in there for these next two and a half hours, we won't have to deal with the absolute embarrassment of playing in Sweden...
Gobac and Goluza seriously need to pack their bags and head home, and for heaven's sake, just leave Balić alone already...
As for the game itself, honestly, I'm over it; it's not even my main concern anymore because this is basically a golden opportunity for Poland to finally take us down once and for all....

Don't go blaspheming and talking trash about Domagoj like that. That kid was pulling off miracles when he was only 18, and honestly, he’s even better now. It isn't his fault they never drill a single set play, so he’s stuck trying to pull stunts with Laco like he does at HSV and just improvising everything else.👎

I mean, trashing him is right up there with calling for Dominiković and Šprem to be subbed into this national team—and people haven't even played serious handball for more than a year!🤷

Duvnjak’s clearly lost his edge... he looks totally rattled on the court, playing like he's scared of his own shadow.

It seems to me that everyone is playing under immense pressure. They likely entered this World Cup tournament knowing that things aren't exactly clicking within the national team right now.

Norway just took down Germany. That means Canada and Iceland are sitting in third place for that group. Since they're ahead of Iceland, if we drop this one, we'll have to pray we draw one of them during the Olympic Qualifiers.

Yesterday, I was going back and forth with Adam Collins4, warning him about the very real possibility that Balić might try to settle some scores through his club over this whole national team situation.

It’s pretty telling that Neno Kljaić seems to be thinking along the exact same lines. Of course, he can't be quite as blunt because, you know, he's the coach and has to play it safe, but he clearly knows what's coming down the pipeline. Check out this link.

Still, I’m holding out hope for a win tonight, even if the odds are stacked heavily against us.
