All the Politics mods are against the Republican Party and the US Federal Government!

Hey everyone, I've spent quite a bit of time lurking around the Politics subreddit lately, but there’s just one thing I can't quite wrap my head around.

Why does it feel like the only people getting hand-picked for moderator roles on this subreddit are the ones who can't stop bashing the Republican Party and their coalition? They just lay it all out there in their posts without any filter.

How much objectivity can they actually bring to the table when they’re constantly throwing their weight behind the Democratic coalition without any hesitation?

He’s got quite a bit of sway over certain users who can't seem to make up their minds. I’ve actually noticed a few people who used to be pretty neutral drifting toward the left side of the aisle because of him.

I really wouldn't want to see this Reddit thread turn into some playground for the opposition party's politics, though it feels like someone is definitely trying to make that happen.

If that’s how they want to play their hand politically heading into the next election, then honestly, I don't have much to say about it.
Reddit is privately owned, so I feel like it’s a bit dishonest to call it a public square. People tend to act like this is some independent community space that should be free from influence, but let’s be real—it isn't.

It would probably make sense to bring on two more moderators aligned with the Republican Party. That way, we’d actually have some fair balance in place before the upcoming elections.

Dear fellow members, I have spent quite a significant amount of time browsing the Politics subforum lately, yet there remains one particular matter that I find deeply perplexing.

I cannot help but wonder why the individuals selected to moderate this section seem to be exclusively those who openly oppose the current ruling party and its coalition, expressing their views without any hint of hesitation.

One must ask how much objectivity they can truly maintain in their duties when they consistently and unabashedly align themselves with the left-wing opposition.

This bias exerts a palpable influence on certain users who are still undecided, and I have personally observed several previously neutral posters drifting toward a leftist perspective.

It is certainly not my desire to see Reddit transform into nothing more than a political playground for the opposition, though it increasingly feels as if someone is intentionally orchestrating that very outcome.

If it is indeed the owner's intention to take a definitive political stance ahead of the next election, then I suppose I have no ground to complain.
While Reddit is private property, it feels somewhat disingenuous to treat it as a public square where independence is expected, given that it isn't actually a public institution.

In my view, it would be far more equitable to appoint at least two moderators who support the current administration, thereby establishing a fair balance before the upcoming elections.

They don't strictly have to be supporters of the administration; simply appointing some neutral individuals would suffice.

Why shouldn't moderators just be upfront about where they stand? 🤷 You’re allowed to have an opinion, and honestly, nobody should stop you from sharing it.

Secondly, if we're being real here, I think most moderators fall into that segment of the American population that isn't exactly thrilled with how the current coalition in the US Federal Government is running things. Plus, if you look at the right-leaning threads on Reddit, plenty of users feel the exact same way.

Thirdly, take a closer look at the Politics section and you'll see that right-leaning users express their views perfectly fine without any interference. I get that moderation can seem subjective sometimes—moderators are human beings after all—but there's no reason to completely shut down any specific political viewpoint.

Fourth, moderators aren't "hired" based on their political leanings, at least not here on Reddit. The most important trait for a moderator on this platform is having the self-control to stay calm when certain right-leaning users start bringing up family members or making sexist comments in the middle of a debate.
