Going a bit off-topic here, but why do we act like this forum is supposed to be a democracy run by the principle of justice over privilege when it clearly isn't? 😕

More often than not, most of the complaints I see in Politics end up being about how undemocratic things actually are.

Gregory Garcia said:If you are referring to these specific topics, for instance, I certainly agree they border on being problematic; particularly that first one, while the second would be viewed as quite biased if it were titled something like "The Republican Party is a Criminal Organization" without any qualifiers.

The first topic could perhaps be interpreted as "Republican Party censorship at CBS," and I am inclined to agree that such a headline feels somewhat biased.

That said, given that we are currently in an election year, I believe the subject remains highly relevant under its current heading—though I shall refrain from elaborating further at length to avoid drifting off-topic.

In any case, I have nothing more to contribute, so I bid you farewell and sincerely hope for more judicious thread titling in the future.👋

Everything is perfectly clear.
But it is also deeply shameful.☕
Much like the situation involving Charles Fox10, who closed the thread regarding the Rehabilitation of Draža Mihailović—would it not have been more appropriate to simply clear the air? Even today, that thread remains locked.
And then there is the matter of the locked Sana Memorandum thread.

These kinds of threads pop up every couple of months, and honestly, it’s usually the same old stuff from the same group of people. New usernames, same vibe—total déjà vu. (Not saying OT is a clone or anything, but this isn't exactly groundbreaking content.)

The reality is, moderation on the Politics board is way too light. Things slip through the cracks constantly. Don't get me wrong, the mods are doing an awesome job—like, 5 out of 6 of them are killing it, which is a great ratio. But I get the feeling they’re just drowning in the sheer amount of nonsense generated every single day. Eventually, you just hit a wall and only go after the absolute worst offenders.

But hey, that's just my take on it. It's all subjective, right? Your view vs. mine.

I'm pretty sure the admins have everything under control. They seem happy with how things are being moderated and the overall pace of the board, so complaining about these threads feels a bit pointless to me.

(I am not suggesting the OP is a clone, but this certainly isn't the first thread with this exact sentiment.)

The reality is that moderation within the Politics section is essentially too lenient, if not infrequent enough, which allows quite a lot to slip through the cracks. While I believe the moderators are doing an excellent job—at least five out of six of them, which is a wonderful success rate—I have a nagging feeling that the sheer volume of nonsense generated daily has become overwhelming for them, leading them to occasionally throw up their hands and only step in when things become truly reprehensible.

Of course, I recognize that these are merely subjective impressions, both yours and mine.

I trust that the administrators are overseeing everything, and since they seem satisfied with both the current moderation style and the frequency of posts, discussions regarding the effectiveness of these rules feel somewhat redundant.

Please, just take a look at the recent posts, such as the one concerning the Rehabilitation of Draža Mihailović.
Even the admins are not God.

Take Charles Fox10, for instance—he shut down the thread regarding the Rehabilitation of Draža Mihailović, and it remains closed to this day.
Then there's the thread on the Sana Memorandum, which stays locked too.

It'll stay locked. Let them handle his rehabilitation somewhere else.

If that is the case, why did you resort to such falsehoods?
By acting this way, you are essentially performing his rehabilitation yourself.

Praise should actually be backed by some kind of argument. ☕

Honestly, there’s no point in even trying to lay out an argument. All the politics moderators here are clearly riding with the Democratic Party, backing them without hesitation. I already pointed this out in another thread, but they just shut me down for it.
northerntiger The user said:My only gripe is that everyone's being way too soft on the trolls. You've got the leftists and the rightists—though the latter group is definitely more primitive—completely hijacking every single discussion. Honestly, as soon as I spot certain usernames, I already know exactly what kind of nonsense they're going to spout, regardless of what the topic actually is. 🙄

What exactly makes you different?
The moment I see your username, I know things are about to get colorful. The Republican Party is nothing but a bunch of thieves, the Government is a total mess, and you’ve got guys like that bloated crook Šuker leading the charge.

By the way,

it isn't just Ryan Vaughn7; all the moderators in the Politics section agree that any talk regarding fascist, insurgent, or partisan themes should be tossed straight into the dustbin of history where it belongs.

And what's this about a thread titled "Abolishing Gojko Šušak Avenue" involving fascists and partisans?
The explanation is as clear as a mountain stream—except maybe a little shallow.

Ryan Vaughn7 said:The thread was nuked after just three posts because we already have an "Barack Obama - US President" thread where people can air their grievances. There’s absolutely no reason to start a whole new one. I already explained this to you on PP when you asked, and I even sent you the direct link to the existing discussion.
The only thing that smells fishy here is your desperate attempt to prove a point that simply isn't true.

If that's the logic, then why doesn't Jadranka have her own dedicated topic??🙄

...essentially, you don't even need arguments—because all the moderators in the Politics section are clearly backing the Democratic Party, giving them their unconditional support, which is exactly what I pointed out in that other thread they shut down for me (over on the State Senate forum).
...

It seems unlikely that every single moderator is aligned with the Democratic Party, but honestly, what does that even have to do with anything? I didn't see a single positive headline about the Democrats on the first few pages of the front page. I didn't feel like digging any deeper than that.

Yeah, it went under because the mods let people start all these new venting threads instead of just merging them into the main one about J. Kosor.

Since Obama is technically an "ex" member of the Democratic Party—meaning they funded his campaign before he moved on—🤣 it’s only fair we don't have ten different threads dragging him through the mud.

It’s much easier to moderate a single thread than a dozen scattered ones. ☕

Since Obama is basically an "ex" member of the Democratic Party—I mean, they funded his entire campaign and now he's out—it’s only fair we don't clutter up ten different threads talking about him.🤣 Isn't that right?

It's way easier to moderate just one thread. ☕

Where exactly are you seeing censorship on this thread?

The thing about censorship is that the structure is designed so you simply "don't see" the posts that aren't allowed.

Personally, my own posts get wiped even when I'm not trolling or being insulting—just because they might be a bit bruising to the President's dignity.

You’ve read countless times how J. Kosor is a monster, a witch, an idiot, needs to be arrested, or worse... yet if you try to write something similar about Obama, it disappears.

Let's not pretend to be naive here.

You’ve read endless threads calling J. Kosor a total nightmare, a witch, an idiot, saying she needs to be arrested, or worse... but try writing something remotely like that about Obama and what happens??!!

Let's not pretend we're all innocent here.

And why on earth would you think it's only happening to you or just people on your side? It's happening to everyone. You just don't realize how many of my posts have been wiped out, but hey, of course you only notice what affects you.

And yeah, I'm not even counting the ones that were clearly doctored.

In my own experience, I have found that posts are removed even when they aren't intended as trolling or insults, but merely because they happen to be uncomfortable regarding the President's dignity.

One can read countless instances where J. Kosor is labeled a villain, a witch, an idiot, or even worse, suggesting she should be arrested—yet, the moment one attempts to write something of a similar tone regarding Obama, the content vanishes!!

Let us not pretend to be naive about how this works.

xx
That is precisely the case (and while this applies to Kosorica, it certainly applies to Obama as well).

They are clearing content from everyone; it is just that you aren't aware of how many of my own posts have been removed, whereas, naturally, you are quite aware of what happens to your own.

Of course, I am not even taking the heavily edited posts into account.

Does the fact that your entries are being deleted somehow justify the deletion of anyone else's?
It might not bother you, but I assure you, it bothers others.

Maybe it doesn't bother you, but it definitely bugs some people.

Deleting stuff on the left or the right isn't censorship when they're pulling posts from all "sides." That’s just called moderating.
Whatever, man. We've all been there, thinking our deleted post was totally epic and important or whatever.

But hey, just like with any other platform, you can always complain about deletions if you think things are unfair...

I don't see deleting as "censorship," I see thread moderation as a total win—even when my own posts get tossed out. 🙂
