How exactly are you going to decide which funny pictures count as jokes and which ones are considered attacks on you or Zodiac?

I’ll share my take on how things have unfolded here.

We used to have this thread dedicated to jokes, and honestly, it worked fine. Sure, there was some off-topic chatter now and then, but nothing crazy. The moderator back then was Zodiac, who would pop in every few months and generally stayed out of the way without making things weird. It was alright. Then William Myers7 stepped in and, within just a couple of months, launched that "Funny picture" thread, which ended up being one of the most visited spots on the entire forum. Since it felt like we didn't actually have a moderator—because you can't really call Zodiac a moderator if he's never around—his taking charge seemed like the only logical move at the time.

Then, out of nowhere, Jose Johnson79 showed up and started her little reign of terror without any warning or heads-up. She zeroed in on the "Funny picture" thread, even though there were plenty of other topics that desperately needed attention first. That thread was perfect exactly the way it was, but she went ahead and locked it down, split it into different sections, and wiped away every trace of our conversations where we were actually trying to be decent people. Naturally, that rubbed us the wrong way, and the reaction was predictably messy—insults, threats, and everyone just pestering the super-moderators.

I've seen how it usually goes when someone gets promoted to moderator. Usually, it’s some congratulations or just friendly ribbing. But how are you supposed to congratulate someone you’ve never even interacted with on the forum?

Look, I know it’s irrelevant to what we’re discussing, but it seems a bit pointless to have a moderator who doesn't actually participate in the thread they’re managing and who has managed to alienate absolutely everyone posting there. Personally, I wouldn't want to hold a moderator position in a thread where nobody can stand me.

We’re all adults here; we aren't children, and we have some sense of decorum. Making jokes isn't some sign of immaturity. We just want a moderator who is actually part of the community, rather than someone who just drops in periodically to delete posts and hand out bans.
As for why Jose Johnson79 was appointed moderator, the answer is pretty clear: "she's great in bed." Brava Zodiac, you've really shown us what kind of authority you have. Go ahead, give me another ban.

It’s pretty obvious that anything goes these days—as long as nobody has to admit they were wrong.
The old thread for Funny pictures hasn't died out or gotten boring at all, actually. If we need to split the GIFs into their own thing—fine, we'll do it—but you could've asked way more politely.
If the thread has to stay locked, then let it just fade away.

At this point, the only real way for the moderators to salvage any shred of credibility would be to step up, admit they messed up, and own the mistake... if there’s even any respect left to win back at this stage.
Honestly, I wish someone had just spoken up about the GIFs earlier. Like, just say, "Look, guys, I’m scrolling through this thread on my high-end iPhone and I’m honestly too impatient to sit around waiting for a single GIF to buffer." As for people complaining about slow internet speeds? I highly doubt anyone even deals with those kinds of connections anymore. The whole argument just feels incredibly flimsy from the get-go...

So, why am I so against Nebi becoming a moderator and taking over the "Funny picture" thread?
You guys run this whole forum like a dictatorship, doing whatever you want with the PDFs, but you should at least leave "Funny picture" to the person who actually deserves it..

In my opinion, that’s the only logical, fair way to handle this.
Just be real for once and admit it.
