So, I'm planning on picking up this monitor, and I was wondering what your thoughts are on it.
My main focus would be watching HD movies and gaming.
I’d be willing to shell out a maximum of $833 for a new display, so I'm curious if there's anything superior to this model that I could grab within a $667 budget?

Here is the "serious" breakdown on those two models:

ViewSonic Monitor Reviews

The Dell, for instance, lacks a DVI port, while the ViewSonic has one.

If you want to be "really" sure, check out where you can pick up either this Dell or that ViewSonic at a local Best Buy or similar, then just make your choice. 😉
