I guess it's just personal opinion and doesn't really matter here. I was just trying to fix the idea that VB is why the forum is acting up because that's just not true. Honestly, with how things are going, the forum would probably run the same way on SMF or even phpBB, which is free.

Edit:
The main culprits blamed for the public panic Downtown were some random forum users. First, on Tuesday, March 16th, about twenty minutes before midnight, a user named “Imamdojavu” posted that for the American literature exam covering eight required works, students would have to choose between either Honoré de Balzac or Fyodor Dostoevsky’s “Crime and Punishment.”

You people have at least three maintenance windows every single week. They aren't "brief," regardless of how you try to spin it. And now we're dealing with downtime during peak hours? ...
Frankly, these excuses are starting to grate on my nerves ...
but several times a week is simply excessive.

Everything remains exactly as it has always been. 😁

Eleven years, and it's always the same old story ... 😵

The only difference is that back in the day, Matthew would occasionally drop by and admit the site crashed due to high traffic. Now, they just call it "maintenance." 😁

I was simply trying to debunk the idea that Kyle King4 is the reason the forum is running the way it is, because that just isn't true. If we had this kind of attitude, the forum would be performing exactly the same whether we were using SMF or some free software like phpBB.

You're right, let's not get into a fight over this. Honestly, those services are just a straight-up sign of how irresponsible the admin is being.👍

The crew out in San Diego by the Ocean is working on fixing the issue. Everything should be back to normal soon.

Best,

I know a few people who haven't been able to get onto the forum for two days now (🙂). Are you guys seriously planning on introducing that whole "a few days here or there" nonsense? Because honestly, that would just make things way worse 😁
For me, the last two days have been awesome—it’s been flying by 😍

For me, the last two days have been great. Everything is flying by 😍

Issues popped up during the forum migration to the new server. Basically, don't collapse any subforum groups. Whatever you do, stay away from these buttons:
image
Clicking them saves a corrupt cookie, which triggers a 400 Bad Request error.

To fix this, you need to clear your cookies. And again, stop clicking that button in the image. You don't necessarily have to wipe everything—just delete the one named vbulletin_collapse. But if you aren't sure how to target just that one, go ahead and clear them all.

I hope this gets sorted out soon. I prefer having certain sections collapsed. This is getting annoying. Plus, it's confusing some users, making them think they can't access the site at all.

Something went totally sideways with the last round of "maintenance," which was clearly anything but planned since they only ever touch the servers when everything is already hitting the fan.🙂
I mean, sure, I'll leave a tiny, tiny chance that maybe I'm the one tripping here—like, maybe 1% tops—because I know damn well what I’m doing. But this forum is glitching out so hard (I'm even getting Error 400s despite the site being perfectly stable) that I actually had to ask one of the mods if I'd been tossed into some special "miserable user" group or something.😍

It would be great if someone actually dealt with this, because after talking to a few other people, it turns out I'm definitely not the only one dealing with this garbage.🙂

hahaha, looks like they tweaked some stuff on vb, so when you realized it wasn't working right, you just headed back to the home icon. Honestly, though, I think the whole vb board could probably run just fine if you guys would just stop using such massive fonts if you want it to

(.....)

Honestly, I’m getting sick of these apologies. I wouldn't mind if you guys were doing maintenance a couple of times a month, but having the site go down several times every single week is just ridiculous. Thanks for nothing! ☕ 🙂

Two months later

Dear admins, forum techs, experts, and whoever else is running this show!

The server is constantly crashing! Seriously, I’m about to lose my mind here, because every time I try to levitate over to the Sortilegio topic, the server goes down again!

To be blunt, these excuses are starting to grate on my nerves. If this happened once or twice a month, I could live with it, but multiple times a week? That’s way too much. Thanks a lot! ☕ 🙂

Let’s not get carried away here.🙂

Just look at how things turn out... people are perfectly happy as long as everything functions the way it's supposed to.🤦

Everything's looking solid on my end. Just wanted to give a quick shoutout to Anderlon and the whole admin team for finally getting the site running without those annoying errors.

Prika, it’s pretty obvious you’ve got the drive and the right mindset for an admin role. I’ve passed your request along for review. image
