SATURDAY WORK PARTY

Since we’re currently buried under a massive blanket of snow, tomorrow’s big group effort is officially off the table

There’s zero chance of tackling the yard or doing anything outside until this stuff melts
And honestly, plumbing work is out of the question for the exact same reason 😢

Tomorrow is strictly limited to indoor work in those two specific rooms:
- Patching up holes around the door frames (drywall, mudding, sanding)
- Laying down the laminate flooring
- Cutting and installing baseboards and transitions
- A bit of light electrical (hanging some ceiling lights)
- Screwing together furniture
- General cleaning

If you actually know how to do any of this—and you’ve got the tools or a van handy —you’re more than welcome
Just a heads-up: since we'll be working in such tight quarters, having 15 people show up would be a nightmare; we wouldn't even be able to move

So, we’re looking for a targeted crew with specific skills

It would be huge if someone could bring a van, as we need to move some furniture around

If you’re interested and can help with any of these tasks, just hit me up here or shoot me a DM

Since everything is buried under a massive layer of snow, we aren't doing any heavy lifting outside tomorrow.

We can't clear anything out or do any yard work until this thaw happens.
And plumbing is totally off the table for the same reason.😢

Tomorrow is strictly indoor work, limited to just two rooms:
- Patching up walls (plastering, skimming, drywalling) around the door frames
- Laying down laminate flooring
- Cutting and installing baseboards and thresholds
- A bit of light electrical stuff (mounting ceiling lights)
- Assembling furniture
- Cleaning up

If you actually know how to do any of this and have the right tools or a van, you're more than welcome.
Because the space is so cramped, having 15 people showing up would be a disaster—we wouldn't even be able to move.

So, we’re hand-picking a small crew with specific skills.

It would be a huge help if someone could bring a van, since we need to move some furniture around.

If you want to jump in and can handle any of these tasks, let me know here or shoot me a DM.

For those who don't have these specific skills, feel free to join us after the game for some beers at the fan club. Every cent we collect will go straight toward buying the supplies and materials we still need to finish setting up the house.

So, how did the party turn out?

Drunk = good. Some people couldn't even walk straight... but those aren't the ones posting here, so we won't bother mentioning them.😍...They were also raising some cash for charity, but Valsimot can give you all the details on that...

Well, we definitely made some progress last night. Send over a list of everything else we still need to pick up so I can get it sorted out either tomorrow or the day after.
Huge thanks to everyone who stepped up and went hard at the pub last night.

Thanks, everything's sorted

The rooms are pretty much done—furnished and moved into 🙂

but I'll have some other stuff to move around starting Monday, so I'll give you a shout then

@Angela Newman33
looks like the delegation from JPMorgan Chase decided to clear out some of your furniture this past Saturday.🤦

I see you're teaming up with swiftmarlin72 on some kind of bed setup, so while you're at it, let's try to sort out that armchair too... if you can manage to coordinate that...😁

Nathan Ramirez11 said:I see you're teaming up with swiftmarlin72 on that bed situation—since you're already talking, maybe you could squeeze in that armchair too? If you can coordinate the logistics on your end, that would be huge.😁

So, basically, I'll tell him to swing by your place to pick up that armchair. 😁

Look, you two should probably just coordinate between yourselves whenever you have a free minute to make that transfer happen... honestly, trying to sync up three different schedules is a total nightmare compared to just finding a gap for two.

Or am I just stuck being the third wheel in this whole situation? 😁

p.s. there’s no bed... someone already beat me to it and they're currently passed out in it. 🙂

Do I seriously have to be the middleman in this little triangle?😁

P.S. The bed is off the table... it's already there and someone's actually using it.🙂

That first sentence was definitely my favorite part of this whole mess..😁

Fine, I'll handle it. Does tomorrow before 4 PM work for you?

What, you don't know how to pick up the phone? I'm heading back out to Santa Barbara tomorrow(!?), but I should be free to swing by after 5 PM to grab that stuff...

Laziness is one thing, but I'll give you a ring tomorrow...👍

If it doesn't happen tomorrow, we can just push it to the day after. No big deal.😁

This thread is honestly wild. Every single time I refresh the page, it’s the exact same thing—everyone's just talking about beer and couches. I don't see any actual charity work being mentioned here, and I'm totally lost
What is even going on? Can someone please just post a GoFundMe link or explain what's happening? Maybe we could actually chip in some cash instead of just talking. ???
