For Mozilla, just search Google for AdBlock Plus and install it specifically for Germany—problem solved. No more ads on Facebook or the forums. It's actually quite a relief.

Everything’s running perfectly for me—no gaps, faster load times, and my data usage has actually dropped... the winning combo is Chrome + AdBlock. 🙂

I’ve got AdBlock running, the latest version of Mozilla, and yet there's still a massive hole in my screen. 😁
How do I get rid of this gap? And what even is it? Element Hiding Helper? 😬
And Vajluša is right. What a mess. What a headache. I've been installing all sorts of little programs and add-ons for days now, but I still can't get rid of those banners at the top or the weird gaps on my screen whenever I load the Reddit homepage. What am I even doing wrong?

Element Hiding Helper is just a specific addon you grab right after installing AdBlock Plus. Just type its name into the addons installation window, install it, and you're good to go; you can pull it up through the AdBlock icon or just hit the Ctrl-Shift-K shortcut.

Just install RIP. Right-click the empty space and just wipe it away. ☕
If you're already using an adblock, just set your filters to EasyList + EasyList.

You know what? At one point, I went a little overboard and blocked absolutely everything! From user avatars right down to the emojis 😢
Even the Reddit icon vanished. Everything was gone!
How am I supposed to kill the ads without nuking the user avatars, the emojis, or the site icons?
And even after I thought I’d wiped everything out, there was this one stubborn ad at the top that just wouldn't budge 🙏
Edit: Finally got rid of it. I also brought back the avatars and emojis, which—for some bizarre reason—don't work when I click them now. I have to type them out manually. 😠 Even the text editor is acting up. Seriously?

Look, first things first—you’ve got to actually set up your filters in AdBlock properly if you want those ads gone. Personally, I’m running EasyList plus some extra filters, and I don't see a single advertisement when I'm browsing Reddit. Go ahead and head over to Tools - Addons - Extensions - Options within your AdBlock settings, then navigate to Filters - Add filter Subscription... once you're there, just make sure you check the boxes for EasyList and any other relevant lists, then hit Subscribe. Once you've actually sorted that out, then we can move on to the next step.

I think I’ve finally sorted things out with AdBlock. I actually got my avatars and emojis back too. 🙏
The ads are gone. The only thing left is that "Marketing" tab in the top right corner, but it's totally empty.
The catch? I messed with these settings once before, and after tweaking other stuff, everything just reverted back to how it was.
I’ve installed so many different things over the last few days that my head is honestly spinning. 😵
Anyway, thanks a million for the help, but I can only hang out on the forum for a second. I’ve gotta run, so I don't have time to dive deeper into ad settings right now. Seriously, thank you. 😍 I really have to go. 😁
