Misunderstood ending scenes (SPOILER !!!)

Hopefully there are some other folks here dealing with the same thing. I’d love to hear from anyone who didn't quite catch a certain scene or the ending of a movie, so maybe we can wrap our heads around it together.

Take that thriller "under suspicion," for instance. That dummy confesses to being a predator and killing those girls at the end, then Freeman bursts into the room. M. F. just cuts the camera and says they've got a killer. Is that it? That's the end??????

Can someone explain?🙂

That dummy (Gen. Hackman is ten times better than M. F.) is admitting to something he didn't actually do, purely because he hates himself, his life, and everything he stands for...

To first half was honestly such a blur... I couldn't tell if he actually cut her off or what, but watching him run later, I figured he didn't.
But then that ending? Total insanity.😕
Did he take his own life or not?
And did he kill that girl himself, or was it his friend?

Geez. Someone clearly wasn't paying attention. It was obvious that footage came from a VHS tape; he pulled her right out of the video.
Of course he killed himself at the end. Was there any doubt? We see him jump, and we don't see him alive afterward.
As for who actually killed her, we don't know for sure. All we know is that his accomplice claimed the other guy was the guilty one. They were just pointing fingers at each other...

Those vague scenes at the end of the movie suggest they're probably setting things up for a sequel.

- what was the point of that final scene? You've got this woman giving birth in the middle of nowhere, and the camera is shoved so far up in there you can barely see the kid. It felt pretty gruesome and honestly just unnecessary...

Or maybe I'm just missing the whole point...🤷

It’s basically the final product—the whole point behind everything that went down in the movie...

The aliens essentially engineered the entire process just to nudge humanity toward evolving into some kind of cosmic entity... first, they dropped that monolith on Earth to kickstart the jump from primates to humans... then, once people found that second monolith on the moon, it pointed them toward a third one, which turned out to be a gateway to those alien beings... they might be long gone by then, but the mechanism for transforming a human into a space-faring being survived via that fourth monolith...

I'm familiar with No Country for Old Men, but I have to admit, I didn't quite grasp the full depth of it.
