What's the deal here??

I'm hunting for a pretty specific color printer... I was leaning toward laser, but then I stumbled upon this Ricoh Aficio GX3000🀷

What even is a gelSprinter? Like, how does it actually differ from a standard laser setup?
And what's the word on Ricoh as a company??

Oh, and if you guys could recommend a color printer that actually has a front manual feed trayβ€”that'd be huge!
Budget is around $500... See, I need to print on cardstock/invitationsβ€”basically soft paperβ€”and while my current laser handles it fine, it's just black and white, so now I'm looking for something similar but in full color!!

Thankss

You actually need an old-school HP that pulls paper across the whole width.

What's the deal with GelSprinter? How is it different from a laser printer?
And what's the reputation of this Ricoh company??

Oh, and hey, can someone recommend a color printer that actually has a front manual feed tray!
Budget is around $500... I need to print on napkins, so we're talking really soft paper. Laser works fine for me right now, but it's just B&W, so I'm looking for something similar but in color!!

Thankss

Take an HP business inkjet 1100 or a CP 1700 for A3 materials, for example.

Just look at how many horizontal rollers those old pro machines have.

Modern HP printers like those usually just have one single roller doing all the work on one side.

The CP 1700 is actually a fantastic machineβ€”really solidβ€”but I’ve run into some issues with the display lately. It tends to glitch out, leaving half the screen dead or unresponsive, which is a nuisance... but as far as the actual printing goes? It’s an absolute workhorse.
