Who or what caused the poor performances leading up to this? A lack of drive? If a coach is blamed for bad play, can they also be credited for this?
Personally, I think it’s mostly about motivation, desire, and mental toughness.
It isn't even about psychology or motivation. I get the feeling these players were just like us on this forum—waiting for the Russians or Norwegians to do all the heavy lifting before this match.
We coasted on luck before, but today we looked suffocated. Honestly, the Danes are much weaker than us; they didn't stand a chance. Not even close.
The second a real defensive specialist stepped onto the field, their whole structure fell apart.
