So, Ridley Scott and Russell Crowe are teaming up once again—this time, they’re bringing the world's most famous outlaw to the big screen. I guess you could say some people are already calling it Gladiator 2, while others might label it more as Gladiator in tights—though, honestly, some fans have probably been itching for a decent adaptation since Costner's Prince of Thieves back in 1991.

What’s your take? Does the world really need another gritty, intense version of Robin Hood? (check out the trailer) 😁

Honestly, that trailer gives me major Gladiator vibes.
I’ve got a feeling heads are going to be rolling all over the place in this version of Robin Hood 🙄
I can't quite remember if Costner's version was actually that bloody.

Anyway, Russell really went in a different direction compared to Maximus... looks like we're getting a pretty underwhelming Robin Hood 😁

I'm actually pretty glad to see a new Robin Hood in the works—a little remake never hurts, I guess. I have a feeling it might turn out to be a pretty solid watch, maybe worth checking out

I suspect the film will be good and worth watching.👍
So, what's the verdict? As long as this remake doesn't turn out to be some overly sentimental mush like Costner's version, I suppose I'm interested.
Gladiator is really in a league of its own, though I suppose the action in Robin Hood is a nice touch—especially considering how dark that whole medieval era was. 😁

I honestly don't get this obsession with remakes lately. It’s just one remake after another, piled on top of another remake—it’s getting ridiculous. Honestly? Hollywood should just stop making new movies altogether. Let the directors have a contest to see who can make the most decent remake instead. As for this one, there's zero substance in this trailer. All I see is Russell Crowe just groaning. On the bright side, though—those boots he's wearing in the shot look killer. Women are obsessed with that style right now. Medieval fashion actually rules!

So, I heard Ridley Scott originally wanted to do a sequel to Kingdom of Heaven where Balian (Orlando Bloom) would end up joining Richard the Lionheart during the Third Crusade—and at the very end, he’d be gifted some land in the United States, basically turning him into Robin Hood. But since the movie didn't exactly break the bank at the box office, and everyone seemed to complain that Bloom wasn't quite "heavyweight" enough for the lead role, Ridley decided to scrap that idea entirely. Instead, he went with making Robin Hood starring Russell Crowe... who was actually his first choice for Balian, though he was probably a bit too old for that part by then...
I'm guessing Ridley won't just churn out some cookie-cutter remake, though—I can't imagine he'd settle for that. This will likely be a slightly different take, maybe leaning more into historical facts rather than the usual Robin Hood stories we've seen a million times before...
Still, I'm pretty sure it'll turn out better than that Robin Hood with Kevin Costner.

The movie hits theaters on May 14th, 2010.

But what exactly counts as historical facts in Robin Hood?

I don't think they're even comparable... totally different styles and everything. Personally, I thought Hood with Costner was great, and I suppose this one will be great too.

I’m honestly counting down the days until I can finally see it—though, if I'm being completely honest, I have some reservations. Lately, it seems like every single romanticized, lighthearted adventure gets stripped of its soul and rebuilt as some gritty, bleak action slog.
