I’ve been hanging around this Forum for years now, and honestly, out of all the mods running things here, Steven Ruiz is hands down the absolute worst.

First off, splitting everything into two separate threads—one for global news and one for news in America—is just plain stupid. We have a dedicated lounge for people who just want to chat, so trying to mash different topics together is a massive fail.

For example, a thread about Tiger Woods and a thread about the victims in Haiti have zero business being related, yet according to Steven Ruiz, they should basically be one big mess.

The Tiger Woods thread actually had some decent engagement going, until this "genius" showed up and started a war, claiming it didn't belong on the Diaspora section, effectively killing the whole discussion.

I don't get it. Is the Diaspora supposed to cater to every single person who's too lazy to check actual immigration websites for the countries they want to move to? Are we just here to hold their hands?

I’m not even going to get into the political nonsense here because everyone can see exactly what's happening.

Look, I think it’s high time Steven Ruiz moves on to moderating some other sub-forum. Just please, don't let him hand the reins over to his buddy Ashley Rogers4. Like Ashley Rogers4 says, birds of a feather flock together.

Steven Ruiz?

I think Steven Ruiz is totally fine, as long as people just follow the rules.

It would probably be more beneficial for you to actually read the Forum Rules instead of trying to blackmail the moderators here.

Look, I don't have anything against Steven Ruiz personally, but his moderation over on the Diaspora sub-forum? That’s where I draw the line.

Look, I’m done. I have zero interest in doing business with you or even having a conversation anymore. So, regarding the costs...

If I were running the show as a moderator, anyone who brings up someone's parents in the worst way possible—like, if you take a shot at a deceased mother—would be banned from the Diaspora forever. Total lifetime ban.
As for everything else—calling the forum names or using those "acceptable" insults—I’d let it slide. Basically, I'd tell the current mods to give people permission to keep talking even if they've trashed the place a bit.

I totally get that moderating takes a massive amount of time and mental energy. My gripe with mods in general is that they don't look at the big picture. They just swoop in, grab a few posts from the usual suspects they already dislike, deal with DMs and all that other "background noise" (which feels way more intense here than anywhere else), and then moderation turns into a five-minute sprint of deleting stuff, handing out warnings, and dropping one-line explanations...

Look, I try not to be a total jerk, but when someone crosses the line—like Ashley Rogers4 lately, which I think is just due to mass stupidity—I’m going to report it. And iiiiiiiiiiiiiiii guess what happens? NOTHING! I’m automatically labeled the "jerk," while Ashley Rogers4, that retiree who's basically halfway through life, and a few other immature kids can talk trash whenever they want without any consequences. Ashley Rogers4 went on a little "vacation" recently, and there was a massive meltdown trying to drag her back from the mess she made herself. Then shadowdrifter34 decides to give a dead cold return to the attacks—which is always a mistake—and ends up getting banned for 10 days! WHY?

Because moderation lasts about five minutes and the mods aren't looking at the big picture.

Hey, I get it—they aren't getting paid for this. And honestly, doing everything for nothing feels pretty pointless anyway...

It’s not just happening here, either. A few years ago, I used to hang out on political forums (like The New York Times ones) that had professional moderators watching 24/7, and the exact same stuff would happen there... To me, a Forum is like a virtual circus where things are always going sideways, and if you don't have the heavy hitters or the brass balls to handle it, you shouldn't expect much...

Yeehaw!

I honestly think "Guzolizac" is just a total American slang term at this point😉—you know, those kind of people who usually just play it safe and slide further into the background when things get intense😁

...And I also feel like calling someone an "ideological match" is just a polite way of saying you agree with them—regardless of any actual "freedom of speech or opinion." It’s basically just being aligned with whatever moderator thinks is right, especially since that moderator's only real purpose in life seems to be banning anyone who dares to flex their metaphorical muscles😁. Honestly, once a mod hits over 25,000 😱 posts, I start questioning if there's anything remotely stable about the mental state of these "powerhouse"😂 types.

Cheers to my fellow Americans—though it feels like the folks from Judah have pretty much taken over this whole Forum long ago😲

Hi,
Ashley Rogers4... do you ever wonder what others think, or how many people are thinking about you?

Regarding your comments about "Banana America"... where does your father live? In Canada or the States? That's a starting point.

You write so much stuff... you don't see it because you assume everyone wants to read it, but you've been a target for many forum users regarding what they think of you.

Getting back to the "retiree"... even though plenty of people dislike him, more people actually like him.

As for the unfairness in moderation, I agree that "not all mods look at the whole thing," they just focus on one part.

Here is a recent example.

I replied to this post... stating what rights someone should have. I wasn't insulting anyone; I was simply demanding that a post be removed/deleted and that the person be found and penalized.
When Steven Ruiz deleted my post, I reposted it, it got deleted again... and then I got banned.

I'm not complaining about anyone... but there would be a reason to. It's the same with other moderators—they don't see "how it started," they only see the end. And if I complain and quote the history, both I and the other person get punished... that's the truth.

Just look at that example above—pure trolling and someone trying to pull all the strings just to show everyone how much they need a lesson in basic keyboard etiquette. And then, once they finally figure out how to type, they start passionately defending some Banana state they’ve never even stepped foot in, let alone lived in. They aren't even citizens! Their actual home was swept away by the winds of war over twenty years ago.

By any standard set of forum rules, this kind of behavior should merit at least a 10-day cooling-off period.

But hey, I guess we'll just have to wait and see how this plays out...

Did Kim Kardashian send you to play bodyguard? 😉

Seriously though, you're all over the Diaspora forums. It's constant!

What is her role in this PDF anyway?

Are you trying to say I'm irrelevant or something??

Or whatever way you're implying Kim Kardashian sent me...

Typical.

Now we’re going to see a tidal wave of forum users rushing in to "support" or criticize Steven Ruiz's moderation here in the Diaspora, despite the fact that none of them have even laid eyes on this PDF. 🙄

What makes you an expert on who holds an American Homeland document and who doesn't anyway?

I’ve had mine since 1998 "as proof of where I was born and for my future generations... so they can be proud and know where Grandpa came from."

I’m not defending any Banana state, BUT I also don't appreciate people like you constantly spitting on it... especially when you aren't even an American citizen.
By any standard forum rule, this should carry at least a 10-day cooling-off period.

You should have been banned from the Diaspora long ago... go argue about politics with everyone else, not here.

It’s just sad that the other members are too afraid to give their opinions because they don't want to get dragged into an argument with you... besides, there's a massive list of people who "adore" you... specifically, they'd all prefer if you weren't here.

A few of you seem to think the world would stop spinning without your input and your constant bashing of America... both back in the day and now in the modern US.

Let the people living there have their own opinions... you and I don't have much to offer those living there. We left, and it doesn't matter how many years it's been or what new citizenships we hold... we should respect that and not stick our noses into things that aren't our business, spreading endless hatred that might not even be grounded in reality.

I guess, everyone is welcome... whatever the occasion might be.

And honestly, that’s the most pathetic part of it all... but hey, "democracy" always seems to be in overdrive when it comes to nonsense like this.

I’m going to head over to the Photography section (which I don't even read, by the way), though maybe they're busy debating about Steven Ruiz over there—in which case, I'll jump in to give my two cents on colors, shadows, and the moderator. 😁

... or maybe I'll just swing by Politics... because that's where all the lost sheep always seem to wander from anyway. 😁

@Steven Ruiz

Look, I'm quoting myself here, but this is genuinely important to me. I need to make sure my question doesn't just get buried under a mountain of other comments.
