So, we’re looking at a feature film adaptation of that classic eighties action series. Joe Carnahan is stepping into the director's chair, while Ridley and Tony Scott are handling the production side of things.
The cast is actually quite a lineup, featuring Liam Neeson, Bradley Cooper, Quinton Jackson, Sharlto Copley, Jessica Biel, and Patrick Wilson.

The narrative centers on four former soldiers who have transitioned into life as mercenaries. According to the screenwriter, you should expect the vibe to lean heavily into the territory of Die Hard, The Bourne Identity, and Casino Royale.

It’s slated for a summer release this year, specifically on June 11th.

It looks like fun, and if they don't stray too far from the original show, I think it'll be alright.👍

This movie is all over the place. On one hand, you get these genuinely fun moments and some clever sequences—like that convoy ambush where the plan actually meets reality—but then the constant, overkill explosion fest just kills the vibe of what should've been a solid action flick. The characters are pretty forgettable, and honestly, Nesson is the only one who actually knows how to act, though he barely gets a chance to show it. You've got these goofy bits, like the tank "flying" through the air, clashing with stuff that isn't nearly as much fun... It’s basically just a popcorn movie to kill some time, nothing more than that.

My grasp of physics isn't exactly profound, so I find myself wondering... is this whole tank concept actually feasible?

If you ask me, this is easily the most badass movie of the year—at least until "The Expendables" or "Machete" hit the big screen. It’s mostly just a blast; sure, it drags a little in a few spots, but overall it does exactly what it sets out to do: give you two hours of laughs and pure relaxation. I’d recommend this to any guy looking for a good time! 👍

Look, I wasn't exactly some Einstein in my high school physics class either, but if I remember correctly, they've been teaching us the same stuff forever—gravity pulls things down at 9.82 m/s squared, right?

Heh... I remember Cooper saying, "We're at six thousand, there's air," right before he goes and hits those planes.

As for the movie being the absolute best... yeah, I can get behind that. 🙂

My eyes are still stinging, and honestly, it was an assault on all my senses.

The movie is garbage. It’s not one of those "so bad it's good" gems; it’s just plain bad.

The movie sucks. It’s not one of those "so bad it's good" gems—it’s just straight-up bad.

I think what you mean is "I personally think the movie sucks." It's all about taste, man. I actually love it when a movie doesn't try too hard and just lets me zone out for a couple of hours.

I don't need to spell out that this is just my take, right? 🤷

@ goldenhound32

All those annoying tropes I usually hate in movies—the sappy dialogue, the worship of the US military, all that—I can usually overlook. But if a movie isn't entertaining, it’s bad. And this one wasn't fun for me.

FOR ME.

Let's be clear about that.

Honestly, I think I would’ve actually had a blast if I hadn't watched it in Italian. I have no idea what I was thinking, letting someone talk me into driving all the way to 🙄 just to sit through a movie when my Italian is basically non-existent at an A1 level.

Honestly, there’s nothing groundbreaking here—it’s not even particularly fun, so I don't have much to say other than it’s just your run-of-the-mill action flick that works if you just need to kill some time.

The acting? Pretty rough. The plot? Kind of a mess. But hey, it’s decent entertainment if you turn your brain off, and the action scenes aren't half bad. All in all, it’s a fine enough movie, though I gotta admit I’m feeling pretty let down because I was really hoping for something way more substantial.
