How do I delete my posts?

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction—I really need to delete a post I previously shared on Reddit, but I’m having a bit of trouble figuring out how to do it. It’s actually quite urgent, so any guidance would be greatly appreciated!
I also had a second question: does anyone know the process for completely deleting my entire profile from the site?

I’d be so grateful for your help; I wasn't quite sure who else to turn to, but since you all seem like such tech-savvy experts, I thought I'd ask here!

Just hit the 'Edit' button if you want to scrub something—as for deleting your entire profile, that's a no-go. Also, just a heads-up for next time, we actually have a dedicated sub-forum over on Reddit specifically for questions like this.

You've only got a 90-minute window to hit edit before the option just vanishes. If you need to wipe a post entirely, you'll have to shoot a DM to the moderator running the thread and ask them to kill it for you...

So, you're asking what movies have to do with this whole forum thing? Honestly, where do I even start? It’s all a bit of a mess, isn't it? You look at the threads, you see people arguing about everything from politics to the weather, and then suddenly—boom—someone drops a deep dive into some obscure indie flick or a blockbuster that just flopped at the box office. So, I was digging through some of my old posts just now—mostly out of boredom, really—and I noticed something weird. My history shows I have 197 posts, but if I remember correctly, I was sitting at somewhere around 220 or 230 just a few days ago. What actually happened there? Did the system glitch or something?

It appears that some thread containing those specific posts of yours has been scrubbed from the system, most likely a discussion board or perhaps even a private chat log.

I tried to delete them before, but by then it was already too late. Here’s the deal: I just posted my email address over on the cat adoption subforum, and now anyone who Googles me is going to see my username tied right to it. I need a mod to get in touch with me ASAP because I seriously need to wipe some older posts off the board!

They’re all about some old relationship drama—super private stuff that I definitely don't want being public knowledge!!!

I also wanted to ask about deleting that one post where I accidentally left my email address—the one about cat fostering. Which moderator should I reach out to about getting that taken down?

I mean, you really oughtta just go ahead and ask the mods themselves which specific sub-forum those controversial posts are sitting in, since every single moderator basically runs their own corner of the site and gets to call the shots on what stays up and what gets nuked, I guess.

Posts generally don't get deleted.
The only time we clear stuff out is if someone leaks personal info or posts links that break the rules. You've only got a handful of posts here, so I'm not sure what the big issue is.😁

Just imagine if everyone started scrubbing their history—the whole forum would be a mess. Deleting posts kills the flow and ruins the context of the conversation.

As for your own posts, you can only delete them yourself if you catch them within that initial editing window—it's about 90 minutes, I think.

It exists. But honestly, it’s only an option while you’re actually in the middle of editing the post itself.
Once that window closes, you can't just go in and delete your own stuff whenever you feel like it. At that point, you're basically stuck unless a moderator for the specific sub-forum where it was posted decides to step in and wipe it for you.
