PLOT

Great news. I think all three Bourne films are solid, but this latest one from Greengrass might actually be the best of the bunch.

Greengrass directed the second one, The Bourne Supremacy... personally, I think it's twice as good as Ultimatum... but hey, like I said...

I am honestly counting down the days until I finally get to see this movie...
While I thought the Ultimatum films were quite excellent—even if the third one felt a little dragged out—the film itself is overall 🙏

I thought the movie was excellent. It shares quite a few similarities with The Kingdom.

I finally caught a viewing myself, and man, it was something else. Damon is absolutely brilliant in this—he delivers a performance that just leaves you breathless...
It’s definitely a must-watch!

Caught this one at the local theater last night.
I was expecting the usual mindless shooting spree you see in those trashy Hollywood war flicks, but it’s actually more of a political thriller wrapped in an urban combat setting. It skips all that macho nonsense usually found in war movies.

I’m honestly surprised this movie isn't getting more attention because the quality is definitely there. Given the title, you might initially assume it’s just another mindless action flick set in Iraq... but it’s actually a sharp political thriller wrapped in a story about the occupation. Damon is excellent, the combat scenes feel grounded and realistic, and the plot holds up. It just doesn't have that massive media hype surrounding it like a disaster like Robin Hood or Clash of the Titans, so I suppose it was naive of me to expect it to grab much notice on a forum like this.

Regardless, it has my recommendation.👍

It surprises me how overlooked this remains even on this forum, considering there are plenty of people here who actually appreciate cinema. It seems like we're mostly surrounded by people who think Twilight Peak Cinema is the height of filmmaking...

It definitely helped that they used actual veterans for most of the crew instead of just hiring random extras for ten bucks.

Watched it. Honestly? A total letdown—just a tedious plot filled with characters you couldn't care less about.

The cinematography is top-tier and the action sequences hit the mark, though. 👍

This movie is absolutely BRILLIANT! After being completely let down by the shallow, overly dramatic, and just plain excessive Inception, this felt like such a breath of fresh air—and honestly, dreamscapes have always been one of my favorite things to dive into. Everything just works; the narrative actually makes sense, the characters feel real, the plot holds up, and the action is paced perfectly—not too much, not too little, just right. The chaos is portrayed well enough, though I suppose—if I'm being honest—it could have probably gone even more chaotic...

Just watched the movie, honestly incredible. I don't know what to say, it wasn't just mindless action, which is wild because it feels like this totally flew under the radar... probably one of the better things I've seen lately, I guess.
