PDF Classifieds and Moderation: Doing both at once?

To me, it isn't "dictatorship" when an admin merges five separate threads from a single user into one dedicated topic, or deletes posts that don't belong. No. This specific forum has its own unique rules, and it should be treated as such. Of course there needs to be a certain degree of strictness to keep things organized.

However, as I have already stated, the primary issue with this board is exclusively those individual threads that multiply like crazy. Here is a recent example—some guy is selling nothing but clothing, yet he opened four (?!?!?!) separate threads: 🙂 😠

men's jeans
men's sweaters and tees
Ralph Lauren men's tee
Calvin Klein men's tee

Seriously, what is the point?! 😕 🙄

If you have just five people doing that every day, opening four threads each, you end up with as many topics as your heart desires.

And yes, another major problem with this board is the lack of moderators—there should be at least four active moderators working staggered shifts. If there were more hands on deck, maintaining the board would be much easier, and I am certain order could actually be established that way. It would be far more efficient and faster than the current mess. 😳

What’s your take on this? If people actually shared the credit, maybe we wouldn't be dealing with so much nonsense. Personally, I ended up with two credits just for bumping some old threads in the same discussion—meanwhile, I see certain users bumping their posts multiple times a day, still being aggressive because they probably haven't snagged anything yet. Honestly, anyone who posts within that one-week window without offering a legitimate price drop or adding new items should be getting credits distributed fairly, rather than just handing them out to every fifth person who shows up.

In the last couple of days, even that one single mode we had left just... vanished...

It seems to me that PalmaSutre hasn't been around for a few days now, and as for Taipan... I honestly have no idea what’s going on with him; personally, I haven't noticed him performing any moderation duties lately.🤷

Yeah, he hasn't shown up in days. Someone mentioned once that Taipan was taking an extended leave, but they said he'd be back eventually.

But regardless, there's supposed to be a protocol for this. Every moderator is meant to check in—you know, in the staff lounge—to say how long they'll be out. If it's going to be a long stretch, they really should find someone to cover their shift.
