That’s why my posts look like a total mess. You make it work if you actually want to get things said.

Those damn moderators!

They’ll find a way to blame everything on us, even when we don't have a clue what's actually going on. 😲 :keneddy: 🙂:area51: 🙂 :wtc: 🙂 :miroslavtuđman:😳

They’re blaming everyone and everything else, but honestly? We don't even know what the hell is actually going on. 😲 I don't even know what to say about this one. Just total nonsense. 🙂Area 51?! Are you kidding me right now? Seriously? Give me a break! 🙂 :wtc: 🙂 I can't even begin to deal with this nonsense right now. It’s absolutely ridiculous how people try to spin history like they didn't see exactly what went down. You can't just rewrite the past to suit your own little agenda and expect anyone with half a brain to buy it. It's blatant, it's dishonest, and frankly, it's exhausting. Stop trying to play games with the truth.😳

🤣🤣

Look, what they’ve got written in the intro? It’s partially right. That's about it.😁 Look, the server is exactly what it is—a total disaster waiting to happen. It’s constantly redlining, pushed right to the edge, so any decent task—whether we're talking about heavy-duty admin stuff like they run over at Microsoft or just some random users running basic searches—is enough to knock the whole thing offline. And once it crashes? Forget about it. It takes forever to get back up and running, which doesn't exactly help the 3,000 users who are all frantically smashing F5 like their lives depend on it.😁

Look, just telling the mods or the users to stop "digging through the database" isn't going to fix anything. That's not the solution. The only real way out of this mess is a total system upgrade. Period.😉 What you’re suggesting is just sweeping the whole mess under the rug. Honestly, the easiest way out is to just kill off all the "advanced" features and strip everything down to basic reading and writing with zero bells and whistles. That’s how we end up stuck—we're constantly limited by whatever they decide to shut down or whatever they never even bothered to turn on in the first place just so the server can breathe easier. All these extra limits and random restrictions? They make absolutely zero sense. Total nonsense.

Look, even though I’m technically "black," that whole thing above? That’s my territory. My business. Period. Look, here’s my honest take. And just to be crystal clear—I’m talking about the mods, not the actual site owners or the corporate brass. I don't want anyone getting the wrong idea here.

Just to be clear, even though I'm technically on the "black" list, what I wrote above is my personal opinion rather than an official statement from the editorial staff or administration; I want to emphasize that so there isn't any misunderstanding.

Are you acting like Tarik, terrified of losing your job? 🤣

The forum is already under heavy load just from the sheer volume of traffic and posts, and while moderator tools represent minor overhead, they can occasionally be the tipping point that triggers a 503 error. There are times—say, around 2:00 AM—when a few mods can tinker with their settings without much consequence. Ultimately, everything depends on the current visitor count and server strain at that specific moment.

2 or 3 in the morning? What am I even supposed to do with Playlife then? Just sit around playing some crappy virtual horse racing sims? 🙄

boldhound8 said:I guess what they wrote in the intro is halfway right, if you want to be technical.😁 Basically, the server is just... how it is. It’s constantly redlining at max capacity, almost like it's always on the edge.

But honestly, it wasn't like that. On Saturday night, there were maybe 450 users active and a few hundred people just reading, and I noticed only about five moderators had their status lights on. That means there are probably another five who aren't even showing up. 😁

And regardless, those 503 errors kept popping up non-stop. I suspect the real issue for most of the staff is that they don't actually get how mod Cp works. They end up wandering around aimlessly for twenty minutes when they should have just stayed in the control room. Training matters, you know? Not just the tech side. What good is a jet if you don't know how to fly it?

Just so we're clear, even though I'm technically part of the "establishment," this is just my personal opinion. I'm not speaking for the editorial board or the admin team, so I wanted to make sure nobody took it that way.

🙏 🙏

Fair enough, though. 🤣

So, I guess they actually listened to the request after all.

The forum is absolutely blowing up right now—we’ve got 780 active users and about 3,000 people reading.

Still, it just goes to show we can probably squeeze more performance out of this server. 🙏 🙏

The forum is absolutely buzzing right now—we’ve got about 780 active users and 3,000 lurkers hovering above.

Still, it just goes to show that we can definitely squeeze more performance out of this server. 🙏 🙏

How optimistic.😁

silentsailor5 said:You think you can just act like Tarik and not get fired on the spot? Not happening. 🤣

Man, forget getting fired—people see some guy in a black suit and immediately think I’m some puppet sent down from on high to deliver orders. Like, give me a break. I'm just out here stating my damn opinion!😁

Look, when it comes to training, we mods don't really have much room to move within the Control Panel anyway. There’s zero guesswork involved and absolutely no chance of someone being "uneducated" about the process. You don't exactly need a masterclass for the two or three basic options you're working with. It's simple. Period.😬 The new crowd might stumble a bit at first, but they get their act together fast enough. Honestly, saying those two or three new mods are wrecking the forum every single month is just straight-up ridiculous.😁

So, what do you think is actually faster? Honestly, he just does whatever he feels like doing at the moment. I’m telling you, I’ll probably be stuck there at the very end of a two or three-hour stretch just to get hit by a 503 error.😍

If the server keeps crashing like this, why aren't we just switching to something more stable? 🙄

Two weeks? Are you kidding me? This has been dragging on for months... I honestly can't even remember the last time I sat down to read or write something without seeing a 503 error staring me in the face... You spend all this time typing out a massive wall of text, click send, wait, wait, wait... and then... boom... 503. 🙂🙂🙂🙂

So I scroll down, go grab a coffee, come back, try again, and what do I get? Another 503. It’s enough to make you lose your mind... just happens over and over and over.

Honestly, why not just implement some kind of "even-odd" access rule like they used to do back in the day in old China when you could only drive every other day?

I bet there would be way fewer people online then. If someone actually shows up, just ban them. Pretty soon this forum won't even be overloaded anymore. 🤣 And maybe the server will finally stop crashing.

PS:
If it took me a second to reply, don't blame me. I typed this out fast, but the server was totally trashed... another 503. ☕

I mean, saying the whole forum is falling apart because of two or three new moderators a month is just ridiculous.😁

Well, it's not ridiculous to me.

Maybe set aside some actual time and dig through mod cp properly. That's how we did it on our old forum, and it worked just fine back then.

Must be what happens when the Admins are busy tinkering under the hood...☕ ☕, might as well throw "super mode" into the mix while they're at it...

silvergardener93 said:I don't find this funny.

Just find some free time and dig through the admin panel; that’s how we did it on the old forum and it worked just fine.

Man, it is so freaking exhausting getting sucked into arguments with someone where I have to repeat the exact same thing three times. It makes me feel like an idiot.🙂
Look, for the last time, the server isn't beefy enough, and that's what's causing the crashes. Moderators, admins—even the regular users—don't "help" the server by being here day and night, especially not when they're busy searching or handling other "heavy" tasks.

The fix isn't to cap the forum at 3,000 people and have everyone else get hit with a "server full, please wait" pop-up, nor is it to kill the search function or whatever crazy idea you're pitching. I seriously cannot believe someone is actually suggesting that 150 or 200 moderators should all huddle up on a Saturday night around 2 or 3 AM to run "admin operations" that they supposedly had to log in Notepad all day just so they wouldn't forget when they finally logged on.🤣
Here, I just logged on to the forum, and then what? Am I supposed to not act immediately, but instead open Notepad and start logging stuff like:
Code:
1:43 PM - thread XY - Link - user XY - yellow card
1:47 PM - thread XY - Link - merge with thread XX - Link
1:53 PM - user XY - Link - check for clone account
2:07 PM - user XY - Link - ban for harassment and delete 12 posts

So I can stay up until 4 AM, chug a coffee, and then start grinding through the backlog? And then what, once I finish all that, I'm supposed to go back to sleep?☕

What's even more unbelievable is that someone actually thinks this will save the forum.🤣 How long have you been around here? 15 days? I've been here for 6 years, and this forum has basically functioned the same way for all those 6 years. Sometimes it runs a little better, sometimes worse; sometimes it goes 10 days without an error, sometimes it doesn't work at all for 10 days. We've had database crashes and lost PMs, users, threads... That's how it was, and that's how it'll stay unless there's massive investment.🙂
If you can't wrap your head around that, damn it, I'm not explaining it a fourth time. Maybe if you tried logging on in the middle of the night, man, everything would just fly right past you.😉

**boldhound8**, alright then, I guess I’ll be pulling those 2:00 AM vigils right alongside you just to keep you company.
Think of me as your personal executive assistant for all this card nonsense—I'll handle the filing and make sure you don't forget the important bits.😁 🙂
