I've been dealing with this one nagging issue for about two years now—my facial muscles feel totally slack, my nose is constantly stuffed up, and allergies are driving me crazy. I can't figure out what's actually going on, and honestly, neither can the doctors... Usually, things take a turn for the worse whenever I strain my eyes too much. I've hit up several ENT specialists, but the stuff they prescribed—Claritin, nasal sprays, you name it—didn't do a damn thing, which makes me think the allergy isn't the whole story here. At first, the facial stuff wasn't even that noticeable, but once I brought it up, the doctors kept trying to steer me toward a psychiatrist... so I just stopped mentioning it. But these symptoms are getting worse, and there’s no denying this mystery ailment is starting to warp my face, which isn't exactly making my life great—so their suggestion to see a mental health professional is starting to look more and more plausible. I've already seen an ophthalmologist and even a dentist (dealing with some old amalgam fillings), and nobody has a clue. I'm hoping someone here has dealt with something similar... otherwise, at this rate, I might find out what I actually have when it's already too late.

I can't figure out what's going on, and neither can the doctors. It usually gets worse whenever I strain my eyes. I've seen ENT specialists multiple times, but the meds they prescribed—things like Telfast or nasal sprays—did absolutely nothing. That's why I'm starting to doubt that allergies are the only culprit here. It wasn't as obvious on my face at first, but whenever I brought it up, the doctors kept suggesting I see a psychiatrist. I stopped mentioning it because of that, but the symptoms are getting worse. There's no doubt this mysterious condition is deforming my face, which is driving me crazy, so their suggestion to see a mental health professional is actually starting to sound more plausible. I’ve also seen an ophthalmologist and a dentist (to check my old amalgam fillings), and nobody has a clue. If anyone has dealt with something similar, please reach out. At this rate, I might find out what I have when it's already too late.

I'm going through something similar. Same deal—nobody knows anything. The only difference is that some people actually notice something is wrong with me, while most people don't see a thing. Plus, this has been dragging on for five years for me, and naturally, it's getting worse. For me, the very first symptom was dry eye...
