The 100m semis are kicking off at 7:10 PM, then the finals roll around at 9:35 PM

Anyway, you can find all the details over on the official websites—they’ve got the full daily schedule posted right there

northerncanyon54 said:Powell crushed those qualifiers—honestly, maybe even the most convincing run out there. This whole new rule situation feels like a mess; I think we already saw one mistake at this championship where someone got DQ'ed right at the start.
The only thing that might actually stop Bolt from breaking the world record or just taking the win is stuff like this—it’s probably adding this weird mental weight, even if he is a total legend who doesn't take anything seriously.

That new rule isn't even kicking in until 2010. For now, we're still stuck with the old way where the second false start gets you tossed. Personally? I think the current system is dumb, and the new one is even dumber—we're either going to see way fewer records or just a massive wave of disqualifications.

Everyone's obsessing over the Bolt vs Gay showdown, but like you mentioned, Asif handled the qualifiers perfectly, and honestly, I wouldn't count Bailey out either. So, in my book, it's more of a four-way race. I really feel for young Lemaître, though—he's the fastest white guy out there and could totally shake things up for the darker-skinned runners in the near future, which is something that could have started happening right now.

Honestly, Bolt is driving me absolutely insane. I’m sitting here rooting for him to trip out of the blocks or just completely blow his start so they have to kick him out—I can't stand that smug laughing of his, all that ego... It’s clearly all steroids. Makes me want to 🤮 every time I see him gloating after a win.

go Powell, go Gay 🙏

My heart really goes out to young Lemaître, though; he's the fastest white sprinter out there and arguably the only one who could shake up the dominance of the darker-skinned runners anytime soon, which is a shame because it could have happened already.

I'm totally with you. He cruised through the qualifiers with a 9.95 like it was nothing. Bailey is solid, sure, but I think the real showdown is going to be between Bolt, Gay, and Powell.🙂

I'm hoping for a win from Powell. It would be about time Bolt came back down to earth a bit.

That smug laughing and how much he struts around—it's disgusting. He's definitely juiced up. It makes me want to 🤮 every time I see him celebrating a win.

Go Glen Mills, go Carl Lewis 🙏

I seriously doubt even Glen Mills or Carl Lewis could beat him ☕

The Americans definitely screwed up by not filing an appeal. During the first heat, the crowd was busy cheering for the heptathletes, so they didn't exactly have total silence. I don't get how they managed to be such absolute idiots.
Massive shock for Ethiopia and losing the gold in the 10,000m. It was obvious they hadn't prepared a stronger tactic to try and kill off the competition earlier. Maybe they'll grab it in the 5,000m and both men's events.

Even though Asaf looks impressive, I'm cautiously optimistic (though I hope 😁) he can snag the gold before he's stuck fighting just for bronze. It would be even better if Justin Gatlin took 3rd and Carl Lewis missed out on a medal entirely.😁

That other guy shouldn't even be leading at these meets anymore. He’s nowhere near his old results, let alone being able to improve them.
Good luck to him in the final. Let's just aim for the top 8.

Damn NBC!!!! Surely they can show at least 2 or 3 minutes of the 100m final. We aren't seriously expected to watch the biggest event of the season via highlights or some random stream on the internet, are we??!!!!!

Usain Bolt usually finds his rhythm during that middle stretch, maybe somewhere between the 30 and 70-meter mark. You can't even really call him an elite starter; if he were, he’d probably be looking at a 9.60. Yesterday, Usain Bolt looked like someone who actually had a shot at taking him down, but when it comes to the 100m, it’s all about mental toughness—probably more than in any other event. Staying focused on the gun, maintaining that cadence, driving your body through the finish line correctly... and you have to nail all of that in under ten seconds. Personally, I don't see Carl Lewis having much of a chance at first place. It really feels like it's down to those two, provided things just click for Usain Bolt, starting with having the right mindset in his legs...
