Issues uploading images to Imgur

Quick question for the group. Does anyone know why these photos I upload via Imgur—whether it's here or on other boards—eventually vanish? All that's left in my posts after a while is this:

It’s most likely because they were purged from the servers. I can't say for certain, but if you don't maintain an active album, the system might just auto-delete images that haven't been viewed in three months to save on storage space. 🙂

Right. Interesting. Sounds logical. Thanks for the info. I usually only upload functional stuff there—screenshots and things like that—so once I've used them on the forum, I don't bother opening them again. Actually, I usually delete them shortly after... wait, hold on. Is that why they're disappearing from the forum too? I thought once a photo was posted here, it became independent of the host server. So you're telling me if I delete a photo from my Imgur account, it vanishes from the forum as well?

Exactly. It’s effectively the same thing whether you pull the trigger yourself or the Imgur system wipes it; once it’s gone from their hosting server, the link on a forum becomes a dead end. 😁

I am attempting to upload several images to an online forum, but I have been unsuccessful. I registered for an Imgur account earlier today, and everything seems fine until I click "browse"...
My computer shuts down automatically whenever I attempt an upload...

What could be the cause...🤷🤷

It sounds like you might have a virus. You should probably check if all your fans are spinning and see what your CPU temperature looks like. There is an identical thread here.

I honestly have no idea. It was a high-end machine, so I find it hard to believe there would be any overheating issues...
