They didn't just hand over the ball. The one guy with any actual guts completely choked. It wasn't even an attack; he was just looking for someone else to blame.

I mean, we’ve got this tiny little scrap of cloth we can just fold up however we want... honestly, the old man is already behind it... if we had just two or three more players and a solid five-man rotation... maybe, but American water polo has been circling the drain for years now, and it’s because the people running the clubs and the federation are totally incompetent... I guess nothing is ever going to change around here... every few years we might stumble into some success with the national team, sure, maybe Mexico will pull something off once in a while, but that's really about it.

You guys aren't getting it. Winning the group stage doesn't mean a thing if you blow it when it actually matters and lose the shot at a medal.
