Have you even considered just going to see a doctor?

I mean, just head straight to the ER ophthalmology department, why wait around for it to just happen on its own?

Heh, it came out on its own... with a little help from the shower...πŸ™‚

I’ve actually pulled floaters out of my own eyes using nothing but a standard Kleenex. Honestly, what's the harm? You just head over to the mirror, pop that eye wide open, and grab the foreign object with the edge of the tissue.

For about two days now, I’ve been dealing with this tiny black speck in my eyeβ€”though, if I’m being honest, I suspect it might just be a stray bit of mascara from earlier this week. It isn't causing me any actual pain, but the constant presence of it is quite distracting, and I simply cannot seem to dislodge it. It feels as though it has become practically fused to my eyeball. I tried blinking repeatedly to see if it would shift, but nothing happened; then, in a moment of slight frustration, I attempted to gently rub it out with my finger, which only resulted in making my eye quite red and irritated. I even tried rinsing it out with some water, yet the speck remains stubbornly in place. Does anyone have any practical advice on how to handle this, or should I just wait patiently and hope it eventually washes away on its own?

I’ve always wondered about this, and I’m not entirely sure if this is the right place for the discussion. I did some quick searching online, but couldn't find a clear answer. What actually happens when an eyelash gets stuck behind your eyelid? Since some don't just wash out, I assume they eventually break down somehow. Does anyone know how long it takes for an eyelash to decompose once it's trapped under the lid?
(I am being completely serious here; I genuinely want to know.)

🀣 Where on earth did you get the idea that eyelashes stuck in your eye don't come out?

They obviously come out.

It really depends on how they pop outβ€”some don't come out quite right when you pull the lid back. :P

It’s literally stuck in there. I tried blinking repeatedly, then tried rubbing it out gently with my finger, but nothing workedβ€”all I did was make my eye red. I even tried rinsing it with water, but no luck. Does anyone have any advice, or will it eventually just disappear on its own?

Flush your eye thoroughly with saline solution. A half-liter bottle costs about $3.25 at the local CVS.
I usually use saline for my contact lenses, but my family figured out it's great for rinsing eyes when something gets stuck in them, or even for allergiesβ€”they say it provides temporary relief.
Plus, it doesn't sting or dry your eyes out like tap water does.

They might not come out right when it happens, but they eventually do. You just won't notice if you're asleep or something.
