On the health PDF, there's this thread titled "Alternative Treatments That Help Absolutely No One." Every time I try to ask what kind of actual data or research proves that something "helps no one," I just get hit with insults like, "You clearly didn't finish middle school" or "Try using your brain for once."

I think if you're going to label someone "human scum for exploiting people's desperate need to heal," you should probably have better arguments. A few people in that debate might actually have the expertise to see things an amateur wouldn't, but most of them are just being arrogant and aggressive—and the moderator, who started the whole mess, doesn't seem to mind at all.

While I was typing this up, a few people already started throwing insults my way. I’ll wait to see if the moderator actually does something about it, though I'm not holding my breath.

Sadly, that's just how these people talk. 😵
And now they're acting surprised that they can't get away with that kind of behavior on Alternative Health forums. That type of communication isn't allowed over there, and that's really where the whole issue lies.

Plus, even the thread title itself is just a blatant provocation against the entire Alternative Medicine PDF.

I suppose I've heard about mass hysteria occurring during the Middle Ages, but nobody would have expected it to manifest on a forum.
Has anyone seen that Budweiser commercial where those guys are screaming inside a locker room?
Well, this place is basically that.

It wasn't Bud Light, it was actually Heineken. Man, I can't believe I missed that. 😬

I honestly feel like, from everything I’ve been reading lately, Ryan Gomez4 is really overstating things—much like those clingy types over at the Green Party who try to ban anyone from posting on their boards just because they don't see eye-to-eye. The reality of the situation is pretty transparent: their little marketplace isn't quite large enough to sustain all the sales of various supplements they're trying to push through private messages, so naturally, they're looking to expand their reach. That’s why having some sort of established criteria, similar to what you see on the Health forums, is actually a good thing; it simply isn't right to let an entire community be subservient to their little business scheme involving those toxic concoctions.

The truth is, their little marketplace isn't big enough to sell all their supplements through DMs, so they want to expand. Having some actual standards—like the ones we have in the Health section—is a good thing. We shouldn't be letting this forum turn into a storefront for people selling toxic junk.

This post perfectly captures my point. I don't sell anything, and I'm not out here pushing products or supplements, yet I still spoke up against these qualifications being tossed around on a public forum like they're official.

At the end of the day, an online forum is a media platform. Under U.S. media laws, you're supposed to respect human dignity, civil rights, and basic freedoms, while actually making room for different perspectives.

It’s a perfectly logical mix-up. Honestly, who would get that worked up over Budweiser (unless they were just venting frustration)? I mean, really...☕

Kimberly White63 said:This post serves as such a perfect illustration of the exact point I was making earlier. My intention isn't to hawk products or promote some specific supplement or brand; rather, my objection was directed at those qualifications being tossed around in a single media outlet as if they were an established public forum.

I wasn't necessarily implying that you personally are out there peddling junk—though I suspect those corporate parasites who police people's ability to speak freely on their own platforms would have plenty to say about that, seeing as independent thought tends to disrupt their bottom line.

Ultimately, an electronic forum functions as a digital medium subject to the regulations governing electronic communications, which mandate that one must "respect human dignity, human rights, and fundamental freedoms while contributing to the respect of others' opinions and beliefs."

The reality is that there simply isn't a statute in existence that compels a person to show respect for someone else's opinion regarding whether the Holocaust actually happened. By that same logic, there is no law requiring us to respect anyone's decision to ingest literal garbage. This legal theory you're spinning seems to be describing something entirely different from the situation at hand, and I find myself wondering where on earth you managed to pick up such a distorted view.

Every time I try to ask what kind of actual data or research proves that certain things "don't help anyone," I just get hit with insults like, "You clearly didn't finish middle school," or "Try using your brain for once."

I honestly think if you're going to label people as "human scum" for exploiting someone's desperate need to heal from an illness, you should probably have some better arguments than that. Some folks in the debate might actually have professional expertise that gives them an edge over a layperson, but most of them are just being arrogant and aggressive, and the moderator—who also started the thread—doesn't seem to mind one bit.

So, you're basically lying about everything in 16!...How can you even show your face!...Your "attempts" at posting, which you so pathetically call that, only to get those insults, aren't some "dramatic" plea for statistics; it's just this ridiculous nonsense about how vodka works:

Ryan Gomez4 says:

What's your problem with juice? My holistic doctor recommended I drink half a glass of carrot juice and half a glass of beet juice every morning, so that's my regular routine. Besides, vodka definitely kills all known microbes.

I just drink it and enjoy it; I'm not in the habit of questioning what makes me happy, and I'm fine letting someone else's happiness potentially kill me. That's why I can't stand it when others try to force their version of "good" on me.

Look, whether vodka kills microbes is super easy to check—just put some microbes in a petri dish, pour vodka over them, and watch under a microscope.

And then there's this deep intellectual discussion where femmelatin throws out an "insult" that's the whole reason this topic was even started... Honestly, anyone who doesn't get it might as well go get a lobotomy...
femmelatin says:
Vodka 100% certainly only causes alcoholism if taken in proper amounts on a regular basis.
America has an enviable rate of alcoholics, but nothing less than any other country when it comes to infection rates.

Ryan Gomez4 says:
And how exactly do you know that...?

I can't quite catch what you were trying to say there—it looks like the message got cut off! Feel free to drop it again whenever you have a sec.
Look, if you don't already get that hitting the booze too hard leads straight to alcoholism—not to mention the dehydration that kicks off a whole mess of other health issues—then I honestly have no clue what else I can say to make it click for you.
If you really want to dig into that second part, go ahead and look it up yourself—you’re plenty tech-savvy enough to handle a quick Google search if you're curious.

Ryan Gomez4 says:
Honestly, I’ve always been pretty tech-savvy when it comes to this stuff, so whenever I drop a point or a theory here, I make sure to include a direct link right alongside it instead of just telling everyone to go out and Google it themselves.

Look, that’s just common sense, man—it's a basic concept that clearly isn't clicking for you.

femmelatin kaže:
Look, I’m honestly not even going to bother trying to explain this to you, because what you're saying just doesn't pass the common sense test, and frankly, it's pretty lacking in basic decency too. It feels like you haven't even wrapped your head around stuff most kids master back in elementary school.
So, you gonna drop that thesis?
As far as links go, I could easily fire off some URLs claiming that lizard people in human suits are pulling all the strings, but honestly, anyone with half a brain wouldn't even consider that a valid point.
Sometimes you just gotta switch your brain on and actually think for a second.

At the end of the day, if you go looking for the actual data and research, it’s pretty clear that binge drinking is a direct fast track to alcoholism, and honestly, looking at the numbers in Russia, those rates are through the roof—it's a massive issue that goes way beyond just some basic high school level problem.

On top of that, even the title of this thread feels like a total jab at the entire Green Party alternative medicine guide.

Hey Morgan Hernandez5, you got anything else to add about this supposed "way of communicating"?...😂
Or do you actually think the way the guy who started this ridiculous thread thinks and pulls his little stunts is some kind of gold standard for us?

And what did femmelatin even say that was so terrible? Come on, entertain us a bit—tell us what was so scandalous that it has no place at the Green Party....

Getting a little paranoid again, are we?

It's like saying there's a law forcing people to respect someone eating trash. What you're making up about the law actually refers to something else entirely. I'm curious where you even found that.

But there is a law (United States Penal Code) which states

Section 199.

(1) Anyone who insults another,

shall be punished by a fine of up to one hundred days' income or imprisonment for up to three months.

(2) Anyone who insults another through print, radio, television, before a group of people, at a public gathering, or in any other way that makes the insult accessible to a larger number of people,

shall be punished by a fine of up to sixty days' income or imprisonment for up to six months.

Section 200.

(1) Anyone who expresses or conveys untruths about another that could damage their honor or reputation,

shall be punished by a fine of up to sixty days' income or imprisonment for up to six months.

(2) Anyone who expresses or conveys untruths about another that could damage their honor or reputation through print, radio, television, before a group of people, at a public gathering, or in any other way that makes the libel accessible to a larger number of people,

shall be punished by a fine or imprisonment for up to one year.

(3) If a person facing criminal proceedings for libel proves the truth of their claim, or provides a justified reason why they believed the content they expressed or conveyed was true, they will not be punished for libel, but may still be punished for the crime of insult (Section 199), or the crime of accusing someone of a crime (Section 202).

More nonsense, really—as if the Green Party doesn't have enough absurdities to deal with already (is goat urine not quite enough of a remedy for you folks?). I have to wonder, who exactly is being insulted here? Your username? An insult only carries weight when it targets an actual individual, provided that person—with their real-world identity 🙂—is actually offended in front of others. Honestly, go ahead and try to sue someone; then you'll see just how much nonsense you're spewing.

After reading through this thread five times now, I honestly don't see any insults being thrown around. Let’s be real, people, it's just an online forum, there's no need to blow things out of proportion...
