Movies with intense marital drama and relationship clashes

I need some suggestions!

For my graduate psychology studies, I'm looking for examples of "high-quality" arguments 😠—you know, those intense fights and clashes between couples from movies, whether they're American productions or foreign films.

So far, I've either downloaded or am planning to watch:

(1) Revolutionary Road
(2) The Story of US
(3) Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf
(4) Notting Hill

What are your ideas?

War of the Roses, Mr. & Mrs. Smith :-D,forget Paris (1995),..

I honestly think those Scenes from a Marriage by Bergman are perfect for this—just 167 minutes of non-stop, intense dialogue 😉

Check out the French film Red Light while you can..

A Kramer vs. Kramer? In my opinion, it’s the definitive film on marriage.
On another note: good luck hunting for a job with a psychology degree. I don't mean to sound cynical, but you're going to need some serious luck.

Maybe check out the American film Behind the Glass, directed by Steven Spielberg. It is an absolutely incredible movie with—if I recall correctly—perfect examples of romantic tension (both within marriages and outside of them). You should be able to find it at most video rental places, or even just buy it online.

You see that recurring theme in just about every single Woody Allen film.

I watched Vortex of Life or maybe American Beauty. I think I've seen it a hundred times now, just like last night.

The arguments are perfect. 🙂

Yeah, this one's easily one of the most intense takes we've seen on this topic yet.

There’s something undeniably sharp about "A Streetcar Named Desire," much like how Altman’s "Short Cuts" hits just as hard.

It’s a pretty charming little study of relationships found in Allen's work—almost like a condensed overview, though exploring his filmography feels more like a never-ending saga than anything else—specifically in Husbands and Wives.
