On April 11, 2010, at noon at Grunt Stadium (Mladost, just behind the deli), we kick off the very first game of this year's American League season.



The season opener features a heavy-hitting matchup between Agram Power—the two-time reigning American champions led by perennial national team stars Tonšetić, Cvetko, Lončar, and top prospect Paris—and the newly formed Velika Gorica Bombers.

While experience and star power definitely favor Agram Power—making them the heavy favorites for any casual observer—the Velika Gorica squad isn't walking in blind. They’ve bolstered their roster with national team regulars Kušen and Franić, along with the Mamić brothers, former Agram players whose intimate knowledge of the opponent's playbook might just be the X-factor needed to tip the scales.

Can the Bombers pull off a massive upset in their debut against the mighty Agram?

There is only one way to find out! We'll see you on the field...

The roster for the European Championship is getting finalized on July 10, 2010, so yeah, you're probably too late for that one—but if you show up to enough practices, you can still make the cut for the Euro Cup 02.10.2010. And of course, there's still a full year of training left before the World Championship, so that's definitely on the table.

We've got about 40 people in our association right now, but only 22 spots open for the trip to Australia. Honestly, I'd love to see more people join the fold—it would make the selection process way more competitive and ensure we represent America at the highest level possible.

We’ll be hitting the road early Friday morning, aiming to pull into Milan by around 9:00 AM. We'll spend the full day exploring Milan before heading to our 4-star hotel in Parabiago, which is right where the tournament is held.
The EU Cup kicks off Saturday, October 2nd, running all day, followed by a massive party in the evening—it’s a total blast, so you definitely don't want to miss out!
On Sunday, we'll take a quick bus ride back to Milan in the morning, then head straight home to the States, expecting to be back late Sunday night.

The total cost for this entire trip is just $250.

Look, do you really think anyone would bother tuning in if the outcome was a foregone conclusion? Of course there's a chance—anyone stepping onto that field for the Grand Final has a shot. Just look back two years ago; everyone was certain Geelong had it in the bag, and then Hawthorn went out and snatched it right from under them.

Man, what a game. Honestly, after the first half, I was convinced the Philadelphia Eagles were going to pull it off in the third quarter—but those New Orleans Saints totally caught us off guard. Riewolt, Hayes, Del Santa... man, just absolute madness.
We had about 30 people at the pub—split right down the middle between our guys and some locals—and it was basically a 50/50 split on who we were rooting for. Half the room was backing the Saints, half for the Eagles, though the Saints fans were definitely louder. That moment after Riewolt's mark early in the fourth? Pure electricity.

So, what’s next? Another game next week. The pub mentioned they’re opening up at 6 again, but none of our players will be there since we’re heading to Milan for the UEFA Euro (http://www.sportingpulse.com/assoc_p...soc=8112&pID=1).
