Yesterday, I was sitting at roughly 950 posts, yet today I’ve woken up to find myself down to about 900... I have no idea which of my contributions were deleted, and frankly, I am requesting an explanation. How does one lose fifty posts overnight? Is this some form of censorship—given that my commentary focuses primarily on politics?

The way you are handling this is nothing short of disgraceful. Truly, I fail to see the logic in contributing to Reddit if my posts are going to be systematically purged... What is the actual purpose here? I put genuine effort into every single thing I write. I end up looking like a fool for participating, and I am seriously considering walking away from this platform entirely...

Perhaps that is precisely what you are aiming for...

Is there anyone on this Reddit thread who actually possesses the expertise to answer my question...

I’ve noticed that on certain subreddits—like the one for Politics—the post counts don't seem to update correctly. It’s actually pretty weird; if a thread you participated in gets moved into one of those specific subreddits, your total post count under your profile actually drops.
Anyway, I really hope you’re posting because you actually have something interesting to contribute to the conversation, and not just because you're chasing that little number next to your avatar.

If you really want to figure out where your posts went,
just try to remember everywhere you’ve been posting first, and then hit up the moderators
... they'll tell you if they wiped them or what.

I trust you’re posting because you actually have something valuable to contribute, rather than just chasing a higher number next to your avatar.

Moving threads to "Politics" doesn't explain why fifty posts suddenly vanished... I know for a fact that isn't what happened here. And of course, I post when I have something worth saying—which is exactly why this disappearance bothers me. It isn't about the ego boost of a high post count; it’s about the loss of actual content.

The other day, I personally witnessed posts being wiped out—moderators deleting content without a single warning or notification. In my view, that is fundamentally improper. There should be a courtesy notice—a heads-up before the hammer falls. Honestly, this ought to be codified into the official moderation guidelines.

Take a look at the rules for this subreddit. They’ve actually put together a really solid FAQ section to help you out.

Sam Green73 said:Just take a look at this subreddit's rules. They have an FAQ section clearly laid out.

I am well aware of the rules... A moderator has the authority to delete posts based on their own discretion—I wasn't disputing that... My point was simply that the rules should include a requirement for moderators to issue a warning or notification when they delete a user's content... Specifically, those posts where you can actually see someone put in some effort...

I believe there should be a simple notification regarding deletions... Something like, "The following posts were removed from thread X and Y"... It would likely create more work for the mods, but I think it would be a bit fairer to those of us actually contributing... Still, deleting is much easier than typing... So if you're going to delete anyway, at least acknowledge that you did it...

As it stands, the current system feels somewhat moronic... Those of us who write end up looking like fools—why bother putting in the effort if a moderator can just wipe it all away in one click? My posts aren't just single words or random emojis... Those types of comments *should* be deleted without notice... But if a moderator is removing substantive, meaningful posts, a quick notification wouldn't hurt...

Take my situation, for example: I've lost 50 posts, and I assume they were deleted... They vanished overnight... It's quite bizarre... I have no idea which specific posts they were, and frankly, I would very much like to know...

Is my request really so unreasonable or unjustified?

Like, even if you gave him a piece of your mind, it wouldn't matter. 🙂

The mods here are just volunteers. Their only real job is answering to the site owner, and so far, he hasn't even asked them to follow a rule like that.
