regarding this thread Texts featuring Jesus' quotes that I’d recommend to fellow Christians

I read somewhere that the reason people might be pushing back is because of my preaching style—but honestly, I just shared these as recommendations for texts that aren't exactly common knowledge. I wasn't trying to force them on anyone; I was just laying out arguments during a discussion. I really think this topic is constructive and doesn't violate any forum rules.

I read somewhere that the reason I might be accused of preaching—something I strongly disagree with—is because I shared these texts as recommendations that aren't widely known. I wasn't trying to force them on anyone; rather, I was simply presenting arguments during our discussion. Personally, I believe the topic remains constructive and doesn't violate any forum rules.

The issue is that you included far too many long, blocky quotes, which isn't permitted under the Religion subforum rules—you should probably take a quick look at them.

Regardless, I feel that even if long posts need to be removed, this specific thread certainly doesn't warrant being locked. I am genuinely curious about the reasoning behind it; I even reached out to the moderators, but I haven't received a response from anyone yet.

On a forum, people are actually here to debate ideas—so an opening post really needs to set the stage for a specific discussion or provide some kind of jumping-off point for everyone to sink their teeth into. From what I can tell, though, this one was nothing more than just quoting a block of text without any real substance.

The opening post clearly states the intention: read the material, share your impressions, and pull out any questionable quotes to debate. That is exactly what people have been doing while the thread remains open. It’s quite ironic, isn't it? We see endless, vapid threads about religion popping up constantly—topics designed purely for trolling and provocation—yet they stay active indefinitely. And yet, here we are, seeing a genuinely thought-provoking discussion shut down prematurely. Why is that?

The subject matter and the text provided offer plenty of room for a sophisticated debate. Reopen the thread and allow those who actually want to engage in meaningful discourse to do so.
