Bloodshot eyes: Is it normal to have a lot of broken capillaries?

I get these subconjunctival hemorrhages all the time. It’s not just one or two broken vessels; it’s like a bunch snap at once, leaving these bright red blotches on my eye. They eventually clear up, but I’m wondering if this is something I should actually be worried about.
Is it caused by high intraocular pressure? And could this end up messing with my vision?

My blood sugar isn't even high—which is weird because it’s been acting up lately! My neighbor is actually a nurse working for an ophthalmologist, and she told me to just use some Refresh drops, but I’ve been using them for five days now... it clears up for a bit, then comes right back the next day. Honestly, I look like a total red-eyed idiot🙂
