Hey girls, since we haven't gotten a single decent answer by now, I feel like the conclusion is pretty obvious. Isn't silence basically just giving the green light? They went ahead and wrote that they basically can't do anything at all, which—fine—isn't exactly news to me, though I suppose it shouldn't be a shock, right? 😳 But that doesn't mean they can't answer a few simple questions. It isn't as if we're demanding everything go back to how it was ten years ago; we're just asking for a response to my original post. That should be possible, shouldn't it?

I decided one day to finally revisit my favorite topic on a subreddit like Face or maybe Body Care, only to find out that everything has been completely overhauled😲
It seems to me that the admins and moderators are once again playing God, because apparently, they still need to mess with everyone's heads a little longer🤷
I truly cannot fathom the necessity of this massive overhaul for such an essential community, especially when there is more than enough work to be done regarding moderation duties and handling user appeals—which, if they are too complicated, could simply be closed so they can actually deal with them properly.
To the dear admins and owners: without the users, you wouldn't even exist, and perhaps the moderators should take a moment to remember their roots and who they were before they ascended to the Olympic support initiative😉

hollowtrucker77, I’ve got a question—and I’ll probably have to ask it again if everyone’s brain is fried from reading this thread to the end—what are the actual arguments for the reform? And I mean real arguments, not just some total nonsense.

I find this entire thread quite amusing, though I must say the conspiracy theories being floated here are even more ridiculous☕
regarding the idea that someone is intentionally sabotaging cosmetics 😂
While there have certainly been some changes, goodness, I don't think anyone's life truly depends on it; in a month's time, I suspect we won't even remember how things used to be😳

Hey ladies... about a year ago, cosmetics used to just be a sub-section under the fashion sub-forum. We took a massive leap forward by pulling it out into its own main section and breaking it down into smaller niche boards; the admins gave us a shot at it back then.

I think Darren has a completely different take than I do.

I’ve been lurking on Reddit since the early 2000s, posting since the late 2000s, and I’ve been here since day one of the reformed Reddit 2002-e.

Cosmetics used to exist as just a few threads within the women's corner.

Then the Fashion and Cosmetics sub-forum was created, which was actually mostly just cosmetics. Eventually, they split apart. I wouldn't say "Cosmetics" was carved out of "Fashion." If anything, it was the opposite—Fashion broke away from the dominant Cosmetics hub that had been drawing huge crowds for years.

I refuse to believe Cosmetics is some tiny, insignificant little sub-forum that only formed a year ago.

Here is why I don't think last year's reorganization worked:

1. The sheer volume of cosmetic products is insane; everything stays relevant at once. If we don't stay organized, threads will just sink, resurface, or people will keep opening duplicate threads with new dates...

2. The number of women on this site interested in beauty is shockingly high!!! (Nine years ago, hardly anyone dared to mention an interest in lipsticks; today, everyone has their own theory of relativity or a PhD-level dissertation on lipstick 😁 , and honestly, good for them!!)

3. Interest groups are incredibly diverse. We need to allow multiple active threads to run simultaneously.

That's my two cents.

I used to be absolutely obsessed with the cosmetics section, but lately, that spark just isn't there anymore...
It’s not that I’ve stopped checking in, but the truth is, the organization has become a total mess and it's getting impossible to navigate.
The beauty brands are scattered all over the place, and the hair care sections are just as disorganized.
It feels like you can't find anything anymore—or at least, that's my experience since I don't pay for those premium topic subscriptions.

In my opinion, the whole point of a community like this is to make sure the content is user-friendly and easy to browse for the actual members, rather than catering to people who aren't even reading it.
And honestly, the ladies on this forum have already made their feelings pretty clear.
