Kidney cyst

An ultrasound showed a kidney cyst about 34 mm in size.

I went to see a second specialist, who told me there isn't actually a cyst at all. Apparently, the first doctor's machine wasn't powerful enough to get a clear reading.

A bit strange. Anyone have experience with this or a professional opinion...

I have been diagnosed with a cyst on my kidney, and now I need to provide an Echinococcus antigen test result. Does anyone here know what this specific test entails or how the sample is collected? 🙄...................thank you

Basically, we're talking about tapeworms—specifically, a certain species known as Echinococcus granulosus.
If my memory serves me right, they usually draw blood to run an antibody test.

Does this mean I already have celiac disease, or am I just being tested for antibodies because they need to draw blood and run more screenings? Thanks.

It’s hard to say for sure—it feels like they're trying to phase that option out entirely.

Hey, has anyone here or anyone you know dealt with kidney cysts? My mom just lost one kidney because of them, and while the other one isn't failing yet, it's definitely being hit by cysts too. How much of a danger are we actually looking at here, and is there any way to just go in and surgically clear them all out? 😢

Ultrasound results: Liver, pancreas, and gallbladder all look normal. However, there are numerous cysts around the left kidney, with the largest measuring about 2.4 inches, and the kidney tissue itself isn't clearly defined due to degenerative changes. The right kidney shows thickened, diffusely hyperechoic parenchyma—possibly signs of nephritis—though there’s no evidence of stones or dilation in the collecting system, just a small 0.4-inch cyst in the upper pole. Adrenal glands aren't enlarged, there's no lymphadenopathy, and no free fluid in the abdomen. Pelvic organs appear normal...

Does this mean there's a possibility of renal cell carcinoma (kidney cancer)? 😢(

Does anyone have any insight? I’m honestly spiraling because I have no idea what to expect from these test results 😢

Honestly, I have zero interest in arguing with you people at 5:00 AM.
To me, a report like this—without even knowing why the scan was ordered in the first place—means absolutely nothing. You mention some kind of "organ failure," but there's no supporting data provided whatsoever.
If everyone went in for scans and blood work just for the sake of it, they’d certainly find *something*. The real question is: what are you supposed to do with those findings?

Based on the lab results and the imaging, the doctor concluded it’s actually chronic kidney inflammation, though before we even ran the tests, she had mentioned that given the side effects I described earlier—specifically the constant urge to urinate—it didn't look promising at all. We all immediately jumped to the worst-case scenario, and honestly, she scared us way more than necessary by sending her straight to a urologist and a nephrologist to figure out what kind of treatment plan they'll implement if that inflammation is indeed the culprit.
