I was tearing down this super steep gravel trail (coming off a peak in the Rockies) hitting about 12 miles/h when suddenly this rock—roughly half the size of a woman's hand—just pops up right in my path. I hit it dead on. The front tire slipped right under, and the bike jerked forward with such violent force that I had to wrench the handlebars back just to keep from flying off a cliff. Suddenly, this massive pain shoots through my shoulder. Honestly, I thought I actually broke something. It’s calmed down a bit now, but it still kills whenever I twist my arm or lift it. I don't know if I sprained it, strained it, or what, but I need to get over this ASAP because I have an ergometer test scheduled for Jan 31st and I can't miss training. Getting a massage isn't really an option right now, so I'm wondering: what should I do? How long does this usually take to heal? Should I skip tomorrow's session?

thanks

Wrong forum😁

Maybe you should swing by a doctor—or just hit up the ER—to figure out what’s actually going on and if this is serious.
People living with paralysis have dealt with this before; I grabbed this link real quick so give it a look:

jbt, you should look for a professional to assist you; it's unlikely anyone on this forum will provide you with any legitimate advice

You should probably head to the doctor just to make sure nothing is actually popped out, dislocated, or badly strained. In the meantime, you can try some home remedies—check out this helpful article on it here.

I've dealt with this before, so I can help you pick what might work best from that list! Trust me, it helps, but definitely get a professional opinion first!

Also, why aren't you considering a massage? Finding a pro who uses high-quality oils could really make a difference!
