I’ve always had this nagging suspicion that musicals were just inherently pretentious, insincere, and fundamentally fake.
To be honest, they always struck me as shallow and half-baked.
You know that specific feeling when you’re surrounded by people who seem totally superficial, or when you find yourself in a situation that feels completely unreal—kind of like a hollow dream that lacks any actual substance, message, or depth.
But it only takes one single exception to shatter that entire worldview.
A musical that is a genuine masterpiece, and quite possibly the finest one we've seen in a decade...

It seems my cynical theory was wrong: the most beautiful things often emerge from the most difficult times.
It’s almost hard for me to admit, but the absolute highlights of this movie are the musical numbers themselves.
