Oktoberfest in San Francisco: August 8th & 9th

The annual hardcore/punk/metal fest is back this year at its usual spot—if you can even call it that. We've got a lineup of local heavy hitters joined by a metalcore crew from Canada, all tearing it up on August 8th and 9th at the St. Martin campground just outside of San Francisco.
It’s basically a weekend of drinks and chaos. This isn't your typical rock show; if you're too soft for real rock and roll, stay home. The venue is solid, surrounded by nature, and yeah, camping is free. You can catch a boat shuttle from San Francisco during the day, or just drive up—if you're coming from between San Francisco and Springfield, just head toward Miami via Martinska.

Also, are there any female guards on duty this year? Because by law, the guys aren't allowed to frisk the punks—well, at least not officially. What happens at an afterparty around 5 AM is a whole different story.

And what's the deal with these bands Disaster and Nike... they sound like some random American emo groups....

A more accurate description? It’s a disaster. A total eyesore—filthy, chaotic, and filled with people dressed in the most hideous outfits I've ever seen. On top of that, the ticket prices keep climbing every year for $3.25. Anyone with half a brain should just stay home. It's always the same crowd, the same bands, and the same garbage. They never get serious. The mindset remains stuck at the level of a local corner store.

The only musicians from San Francisco worth mentioning are D Diplinzi. Their songwriting, their playing, even their live shows—they nail it every time. I might have hit Oktoberfest once or twice, but I only actually stepped inside one single time. I know plenty of locals who organize the festival, though we don't run in the same circles anymore. But honestly? The whole setup is a disaster. The way everything looks, how people act, the constant mess and filth that repeats year after year... it’s pathetic. I'll show up for the D Diplinzi set because I actually enjoy them, but there's no way I'm dealing with this nonsense. Most of the music is garbage. It's not that I'm being difficult just for the sake of it; it's because I see all those tired clichés associated with punks playing out right in front of me, and they're actually true. Whatever. Someone has to be part of that crowd. Some people think they're musicians, some just want to go fishing, some eat meat, some won't even touch milk... San Francisco, the metropolis of youth. 🤣

The discipline in these bands is honestly pathetic—they sound like some washed-up American garage rock group from the late 70s trying too hard to be edgy🤷 If you dig that crap, go right ahead. Me? I’m gonna have a blast at Oktoberfest for my 9th year in a row.

Not even related to Oktoberfest, but honestly, none of those so-called "friends" of yours can deny what that whole scene actually looks like or who shows up there. I’ll just say this: you really dragged my name through the mud. Even if I had a negative opinion of you, I wouldn't insult you. I refuse to stoop to your level—or whatever level you think you're on, though you clearly aren't growing anytime soon. As for phones, tech, or women, don't worry about it. I know how much of a mess that place is every single year. I know because I've seen it, and that's what I wrote. Don't worry about me—not about the bike, and certainly not about the girl.
