So, this is a new release—I'm actually not sure if it's even hitting theaters right now—but what are your thoughts? Do we think it’ll bring something truly innovative to the table, or is it just going to be more cinematic trash?

And I’m guessing you already know where to look... on the torrent sites. 😁

This movie is absolute garbage... a total train wreck. Honestly, don't even waste your data on this trash...
Sure, there are a few decent CGI shots that look okay, and the atmosphere hits some interesting notes with the color palette and shading...
But—the acting is trash, the plot is even worse, and while you can tell they had ambition, it totally missed the mark and ended up just being pathetic. As for the action choreography? It’s easily one of the worst things I've seen in the last 15 years...
Tension? Zero. World-building? Zero.

I can't even put into words how bad this was. And I was actually looking forward to a fun little cult classic... what a letdown.

Good, fun trash? 😕
wtf?! Do you even know what defines a trash movie? 👎

I thought the movie was fine—it’s basically a mix of Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, Blade 2, and stuff like that... maybe even Aliens if you consider the vibe. The acting holds up, especially since the whole thing was shot on a green screen, but I'm pretty sure you missed that. 🙄
Plus, they made this for just $8 million. Honestly, that makes it better in my book.
If you're looking for something massive like The Chronicles of Riddick, you might be disappointed. This isn't that kind of movie. 😉

What on earth? Do you even have a definition of what constitutes a trash film? 👎

I found the movie to be quite decent. It’s a solid blend of Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, Blade 2, and even carries that specific atmosphere you find in Aliens. The acting holds up surprisingly well, considering the entire thing was shot against a green screen—though I’m certain you wouldn't have noticed that. 🙄
Besides, the budget was only $8 million. That’s exactly why I like it even more.
If you're sitting there expecting some massive spectacle along the lines of The Chronicles of Riddick, you might want to temper those expectations. This isn't that kind of movie. 😉

Are you actually serious? Only 8 million? WOW.

I’ve watched it, and honestly, the film is excellent. I find myself completely disagreeing with everything dustytrucker51 said. Personally, I loved the plot, the acting, and the action sequences. It doesn't feel like those over-the-top Hollywood blockbusters that try too hard. There is a certain charm to how simple and direct it is. You shoot someone in the head, they die—it doesn't need any ridiculous gimmicks.

I highly recommend it. 👍

Wait, seriously? Do you actually have any idea what defines a trash film? 👎

I thought the movie was pretty solid—it felt like a cool blend of Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, Blade 2, and even that specific atmosphere you get from Aliens. The acting held up well enough, too, which is impressive considering the whole thing was shot entirely against a green screen... though I'm sure you wouldn't have any clue about how much work goes into that. 🙄
Besides, the whole thing was shot on a budget of just $8 million—which, if you ask me, actually makes it even better.
If you’re sitting there expecting something massive and high-octane like The Chronicles of Riddick, I should probably give you a fair heads-up—you might end up feeling a little let down. This just isn't that kind of movie. 😉

🙏
Wait, wasn't the budget around $20 million?
I honestly thought the movie was great. The direction and cinematography were top-tier—really stunning stuff. To be fair, I was expecting a bit more from the acting, especially considering we had such an incredible cast lined up, so that part left me feeling a little let down. That being said, if you’re a fan of games like Gears of War, you’re definitely going to have a blast with this one. Also, after dealing with so much PG-13 nonsense lately—honestly, I feel like they should just scrap the PG-13 rating for action movies altogether—it was such a relief to finally sit down and enjoy a proper R-rated film.

I thought the movie was totally fine—sort of a mix of Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, Blade 2, and stuff like that... maybe even Aliens (in terms of vibe). The acting holds up too, especially considering the whole thing was shot against a green screen, but I bet you didn't catch that. 🙄
Plus, it only cost $8 million to make, which actually makes it better in my book.

Alright then, go ahead and define "trash" for me. 🙂
To me, even grindhouse counts as trash... but it’s so campy it works.

As for this movie, let's just agree to disagree. Different strokes for different folks.

Look, this movie isn't total trash. All things considered, it’s just a mediocre action flick with some decent moments mixed in with the bad ones—but honestly, what really gets under my skin is all that wasted potential.
What worked for me: The atmosphere in certain stretches, the way they played with colors and visual effects, and that cool blend of futuristic tech mixed with a turn-of-the-century vibe. Plus, Ron Perlman :-)
What didn't work: The story... man, it had so much potential, but it just completely falls apart by the end. Those last 30 minutes were totally unwatchable, and the acting was pretty rough (though I guess that's somewhat expected given the caliber of this production). Okay, I should probably mention I watched this without subtitles, and the rip quality wasn't exactly great either—so maybe that’s part of why I ended up feeling a bit let down.
Conclusion: It's a shame. Good idea, poor execution.

Honestly, this movie was such a disaster, it’s basically just poster material at this point. I guess I just don't understand how grown adults can actually sit down and decide to make films like this. 😢

Finally got around to watching this one 😁

A mild disaster, honestly—but if they really pulled this off on an $8 million budget, I have to give them credit. Visually? It’s decent enough. The acting, the script, the characters...

The movie has finally hit the rental stores.

It’s a lackluster war flick with a screenplay so weak it feels like it’s set in the present day—or perhaps the past—when it clearly ought to be taking place in the future.

That said, I actually hold the director, Simon Hunter, in high regard. About two years ago, I caught his film The Lighthouse on TV, and I genuinely enjoyed it.

Because of that, I still maintain high expectations for this director, and I will certainly be tuning in for his future projects.

Even if this particular one turns out to be a massive flop.

The direction is solid and the acting isn't half bad—plus, there’s plenty of action—but honestly, nothing can save this movie from a script that feels like it was scribbled by a squirrel on caffeine.☕

The movie isn't actually all that bad. Even though most people seem to have an issue with the script, there are some really well-executed scenes in there.

Honestly, this one caught me off guard. I was fully expecting a complete waste of time, but it actually turned out to be a really solid movie. The visuals are top-tier, the atmosphere is spot on, and I don't really care about a few clichés—that’s never been an issue for me. In my opinion, it's better than a lot of those hyped-up blockbusters you hear everyone talking about.
