Could be some H. pylori bacteria messing with your stomach or whatever, there are tons of threads about it out there.

Also, a quick tip—only capitalize the first letter, unless it's a proper noun. So the thread title should be Nausea, every morning...

Elizabeth Richardson said:It’s entirely possible you're dealing with some kind of stomach bacteria—Helicobacter pylori, I think it's called—there are probably a hundred threads on the forums discussing that exact thing.

Aside from that, maybe pick up a quick grammar lesson. Only the first letter should be capitalized, unless you're using a proper noun. So, the thread title should have been "Nausea every morning"...

Look, please don't try to lecture me on grammar. I likely know it better than you do... I just wrote it that way to make it pop.

Thanks for the advice, I guess?

You're illiterate. And it’s not even about grammar, it's spelling.

You aren't exactly breaking new ground here; I feel like I've heard this exact same thing five hundred times already.

And honestly, watching the grammar, the spelling, the syntax... all that nonsense just gives me a headache. Just go find someone else to mess with.

freya7, can you tell me... what other symptoms were you dealing with? For me, it’s nausea every morning—sometimes it lingers for most of the day. Every morning when I get up, I feel sluggish and exhausted... there's this weird bitter taste in my mouth, my throat feels dry, and I get occasional headaches. How did you manage to get rid of the nausea? I start a job this Monday, and while I can push through the headaches and fatigue for a bit until I get a proper diagnosis and treatment starts, the nausea is the real killer—when I feel sick, I'm useless.

Have you had blood work done since the symptoms started? You really need to get that checked out.

Complete Blood Count (CBC)
ESR (sedimentation rate)
CRP (inflammation marker, C-reactive protein)
Liver function tests (ALT, AST, ALP, GGT, direct and indirect bilirubin)
Amylase (for the pancreas)

Based on the symptoms, it could be chronic anemia or even hepatitis. You need to rule those out, along with any kind of chronic inflammation.

I doubt it's gallbladder issues.
In the last six months or so, have you been taking any pills or medication in any other form? Any hospital stays?

Go get your blood drawn tomorrow—straight to the doctor. You've been dragging these symptoms around for too long.

Let me know how it goes.

No, I haven't been taking any meds... I actually just went for my DMV physical five days ago to renew my license... they pulled some blood for me... if I recall correctly, it was a CBC, metabolic panel, electrolytes, and one other thing, plus they did urine tests—bilirubin and all that stuff. They didn't flag anything, so I passed the medical exam, which presumably means those results were fine.

I know inflammation usually comes with a fever, and since gastritis is essentially stomach inflammation... I really doubt that's what we're looking at here.

Chronic anemia... maybe, if there's a link to ferritin levels... but as for hepatitis, honestly, where is that even coming from? I've been vaccinated against Hepatitis B, so it's not that; the others are transmitted through infected blood or other bodily fluids, nothing I've had contact with. So, the only real possibility would be Hepatitis A or E, which you pick up from contaminated food or water—thankfully, those are much milder than the rest. We'll see though... I'm going to get more blood work done, an abdominal ultrasound, and a H. pylori test... and if those come back clean, she'll probably send me in for an endoscopy :S. Fingers crossed for me... and thanks for the reply, Patrick Carter.

Not everyone runs a fever, and people don't all react to illness the same way.

If you have the lab results, post them. Not everyone knows how to interpret medical data.

People on here constantly ask for advice only to follow it up with "my bloodwork looks fine." Okay—but you actually need to know how to read the report first.

And look, no offense, but I’m genuinely confused by one thing—you’re willing to go through all the hoops for a driver's license exam, yet you won't see a doctor about your actual health issue? Priorities seem a bit skewed there, don't they? 🙄

Honestly, don't worry about me—I can read my own lab results just fine. I mean, I was a medical technician, after all... haha. Getting my driver's license was always the main goal here. Since I wasn't feeling any actual pain, I figured the physical would just pass on its own. It’s not like anything hurts—not my stomach, my liver, my pancreas, or any part of my abdomen, really. Nothing. Just this occasional nausea... but lately, even that's getting on my nerves, so I'm going to go get checked out and finally put this to rest. I know what you're thinking right now (a medical tech who doesn't pay attention to his own health)... but what can I say? It runs in the family; we're all pretty much the same way. And during the medical exam, when the doctor asked if I had any underlying health issues... I just said no. I didn't want to risk failing the exam.

As for this whole situation where I've been feeling nauseous for three days straight... I probably trashed my stomach with that burger I grabbed. I'm officially done with fast food. I actually feel great today, well, if you don't count those two hours of standard nausea every single morning right after I wake up.

Anger? No, I couldn't possibly be angry at someone who has given me so many helpful pieces of advice and ideas.

So, my doctor actually had me come in just to draw half a liter of blood...

Everything was checked: CBC, metabolic panel, electrolytes, CRP, liver enzymes, amylase, iron, ferritin, urea, creatinine, urinalysis... you name it. She really didn't hold back on the testing.

And honestly? My blood work came back so perfect it’s almost unreal. Everything is sitting right in the sweet spot—not a single value even brushes against the high or low limits. I'm heading back to see her tomorrow to figure out the next steps. She mentioned she might suspect an auristic migraine, which would explain why my head's been pounding; she thinks it could be that or maybe something with my sinuses, since the pain tends to hit hardest every morning. I'm really hoping it's just one of those things. She'll probably send me for an EEG tomorrow, though I'll likely have to wait about a week just to get an appointment at the clinic.
