Goodness me... I truly cannot stand this absolute garbage being called football lately... If only they had just lost 10-0 to Austria and been knocked right out in the first round or whatever that stage is called this year...

Now I am stuck watching NBC... and there is nothing but commercials every ten minutes, plus that dimwitted fellow Blundell who won't stop droning on about Lewis Hamilton...

Robert Kubica. He’s shown so much grit and pure speed lately—you can just see how badly he wants that win from his recent runs. Honestly, this forum feels like every other one out there... everyone is obsessed with nothing but Ferrari and McLaren. It would be refreshing if people actually looked at the rest of the grid objectively, you know? I mean, BMW is looking fantastic. Sure, they were struggling a bit with the aerodynamics earlier, but they seem to have sorted that out now. Kubica is constantly hovering around the podium or at least tucked into those top five spots. And Nick Heidfeld isn't lagging behind either—if I remember correctly, he even snagged a second-place finish last year. BMW is definitely a podium contender at this point. The only real question is who takes it and where. Personally? I’m putting my money on Kubica taking first or second. We really need to start giving the other teams some credit.

It’s just a matter of when they’ll pull AHEAD. Looking at how much BMW has been crushing it over the last three years, a win this season isn't even a stretch—next year? They'll be right in the thick of the title fight.

That's not a given... It's entirely possible they fail to build a decent car and see their performance tank instead. After all, the regulations are shifting drastically again next year—wider cars, no more of those wings (which BMW seems obsessed with)—so if I were you, I wouldn't be placing any bets on BMW next year!

They might grab a win if things fall their way—almost like the Canadian Grand Prix 2006. They've shown they can hold pace with Ferrari and BMW on certain tracks during parts of a race, but they still lack what you'd call true "pace."

As for the title next season? With the rule changes coming up, I think you're being a bit too optimistic.

They might snatch a win if things fall into their lap—sort of like that chaotic Canadian Grand Prix 2006 scenario. They've shown they can hold their own against Ferrari and BMW on certain tracks during parts of a race, but they just don't have the actual "pace" yet.

As for winning the title next season? With the rule changes coming up, I think you're being way too optimistic.

Yeah, and who knows how BMW will handle adapting to the classic car design again...

I don't know, anything can happen—but man, their calculated approach is actually pretty cool. They didn't just storm into Formula 1 like Toyota did, thinking they could just dump endless cash and win instantly. Instead, they seem to realize nothing happens overnight, aiming for that first win by their third season (which is right now).

"Sauber never won a race in their 13 years in the sport but Theissen said in 2005 that the BMW team would hope to have done that by the end of their third season."

Through their partnership with Williams, they gained massive engine manufacturing experience. In fact, some people even speculate they actually held the title for the most powerful engine at one point, being the first to break that 20,000 RPM barrier.
