Is anyone else here?
What on earth is going on with you guys?
I’m just getting started, and even though I’m at the end of my Dabroston prescription, there's still no sign of my period. It's just... nothing.
Honestly, some days I feel like I might actually snap and take someone out, but luckily for everyone involved, I’m managing to stay perfectly balanced.🤣
I took the Dabroston, but it hasn't done a thing. Menzies is completely ignoring me right now.
And the struggle isn't over yet, either. She's going to switch me over to a different medication soon.
My wife is actually an OB-GYN.
I think I'm handling these side effects okay, but I've heard stories about women who find them absolutely devastating.
Oh, boy!! 😱

And how on earth do you know it's premature?

I know because I've lived long enough to recognize it.😁

Honestly, watching myself gain weight out of nowhere is just terrifying!
Now they're suggesting I jump on some hormone therapy just to get my period back,
but frankly, I'm scared.
Because those pills didn't do a single thing to help!
It makes you feel like you're just wasting away when you see your body changing like this without any explanation.
And all they ever tell me is, "Oh, don't worry, it's perfectly normal."
But for me, it doesn't feel normal at all!
In my book,😁
there's nothing left to do.
I wanted to be vocal about it, but I'll try to maintain some dignity. 😍
So, I'll handle it like a lady:
Screw it!

I saw Rušinović when I was 43, and he mentioned this is becoming much more common—women are starting menopause earlier, sometimes as young as 37.
In my family, it’s definitely genetic; I actually hit it two years before my mom and sister did.
I decided against hormone therapy because, honestly, I just don't care about all that.
I’ve put on some weight, but what can you do? I love to eat, especially sweets...

Why wouldn't you opt for MLS treatment?
What about bone density and calcium intake?
Isn't this information accurate:

It runs in my family too, though there are certain symptoms my mother doesn't seem to experience.

I'm not sure who Dr. Rušinović is. I'm from New York City.

Rušinović was my family gynecologist back when he worked at the Mayo Clinic, before he opened his own practice near Miami Beach and later moved down by the Potomac. He passed away a few years ago.
I was pretty blindsided when menopause hit me so early on. I talked it over with my family and friends, then went to the Mayo Clinic to get my hormone levels checked. An ultrasound ended up showing two fibroids I didn't even know I had. The doctor actually suggested a hysterectomy, which totally shocked me—especially since he made this comment about how American women just jump at the chance to do that once they decide they're done having kids. (Those women were never my role models!) I figured if removing the uterus was truly the best move, nature would have just phased it out during my last period anyway. He also claimed it would make managing my hormone therapy easier afterward. It felt weird because those fibroids never caused me any issues. He told me to come back in three months to see if they grew, but he still pushed for the surgery. When I finally got to the hospital, the surgeon who saw me before the procedure told me the operation wasn't even necessary and that I just needed regular checkups. My top gynecologist prescribed Trisequens, if I remember right, though I read those can actually cause fibroids to grow initially.
I struggled with hot flashes for a while until I read that cutting out sugar and sticking to light meals and veggies helps. That was ten years ago, and honestly, 🙂
I think the pharmaceutical industry has a massive vested interest in hormone therapy, especially since I read online that most educated women in developed nations choose not to use them.

Isn't this the actual truth here:
http://www.novonordisk.us/documents/...ument/mls1.asp

In my case, it's definitely genetic, because I don't see some of those symptoms in my mom.

I have no idea who Rušinović is. I'm from Chicago.

Frane Rušinović was a well-known OBGYN from Chicago who passed away from cancer.
As for hormone therapy, my take—which is backed up by plenty of studies—is that you should steer clear of it in a big way, unless menopause is causing you massive health issues. When it comes to calcium and bones, taking calcium supplements is way less risky than poisoning yourself with hormones that doctors prescribe left and right just to line their own pockets.
