New superhero concept ideas?

Sorry for the delay on this, guys. I’ve been deep in the trenches hunting for a new job, so I’m only just now getting around to posting this. Before you dive in, a quick heads-up: this whole thing is purely a product of my imagination and isn't based on any real-world facts:

THIS STORY (OR MOVIE SCRIPT) IS TOTAL FICTION. IT HAS ZERO BASIS IN REALITY OR ACTUAL EVENTS. THE WHOLE THING IS JUST A WILD FANTASY BASED ON MY OWN SPECULATION ABOUT HOW VERY SPECIAL, SPIRITUALLY GIFTED BEINGS MIGHT Come To Be—beings who, in our actual world, would likely be diagnosed with various conditions on the autism spectrum (Autism, Asperger’s, Kanner Syndrome, Pervasive Developmental Disorder, Rett Syndrome, and other psychological-related developmental disorders).

With the goal of engineering a superman, The Illuminati gathered a think tank of scientists in the early 20th century. Their mission? To engineer one superior race that would wipe out everyone else and rule the Earth exactly the way it should be ruled: by superhumans.

Leading up to that, millions of experiments were shoved down the throats of unsuspecting people without their consent. None of those trials ever provided a logical explanation for the causes of autism. The cold truth is that all those people were just collateral damage—necessary sacrifices to forge one single man, one superman: Amen.

So, what actually makes Amen different from your average Joe?
He has total mastery over his own body at a microscopic, cellular level. This means:
he can push his brain to use 100% of its capacity
he can trigger rapid regeneration of his organs, muscles, hair, skin, teeth, and more...
he possesses superhuman senses, including a "danger sense" that extends beyond himself to anyone he loves
he has a perfect photographic memory of every single thing he’s ever experienced
he can sense others' emotions, read minds, and even communicate telepathically without saying a word aloud
He has exactly one weakness: his life expectancy is only seven days. He gets to choose whether to live those seven days as a superhuman or spend an entire lifetime living as an ordinary human without powers. That choice is entirely up to him.
You could say everything about Amen is "super," but deep down, he’s just a man who needs the love of God, Jesus Christ. He doesn't see any point in existing without a higher power, so he fights on the side of Good.

So, I finally decided to sit down and knock out this short story about Amen. Since I actually committed to starting it, it’s only fair that I see it through to the end. I’ve set myself a deadline to have it wrapped up within 10 months of this year. Just putting that out there so you guys know what's coming.

The original story is actually quite good... I feel like you Amen types could turn this into a massive comic book hit, though I still prefer the old classics...

It’s a total black hole of logic. Like, seriously, why would ANYONE ever set out to build something with the express goal of self-destruction? It’s like saying, "Hey, let me invent a gun just so I can pull the trigger the second it actually works!" Makes zero sense, right?

Imagine a graphic novel about an ancient ninja and a samurai who gets dropped into the 21st century... basically, the gods sent him to bring peace to China, but he ends up facing modern tech head-on. He stays strictly old school—swords and raw grit—throughout the whole thing. It could be a hell of a story...

I really feel like we ought to bring Leslie Eldridge back into the fold—but, you know, with a much darker, more brooding edge this time around.

Why? Because humans carry both the power to kill and the power to live within them. Why did someone invent the atomic bomb? So that when the "right moment" arrives, they can wipe
all of humanity off the map.

To wrap this up: love is what drives people to survive and to fight
for things actually worth fighting for, and that love flows from Jesus.

One more thing. Real superheroes aren't the ones we see in Hollywood movies with all the
superpowers; they are the regular people who have a child with special needs and
fight tooth and nail against every illness and hardship just to keep them alive. They are the
people who lost their entire family to war but still believe in the idea that Good
conquers Evil. They are the ones who refuse to stay down when Life kicks them in the teeth.

So, if they ever make a new superhero movie, they should
make it about a guy whom life just relentlessly tramples,
yet he keeps getting back up and refuses to quit, proving that a human being is greater than destiny itself.

Look, I get where you're coming from, but honestly, those religious undertones are a huge turn-off for me—I probably wouldn't even touch that comic or movie with a ten-foot pole... Sorry, but it just cheapens the whole narrative. It feels like they're trying to preach specific religious dogmas, which is a shame because comics have always managed to keep their own unique identity despite all that stuff going on in the background.

I'm done. If we keep going like this, we might as well just move this entire thread over to the religion subforum...🙄

So, if they ever decide to make another superhero flick, they really should
make it about a guy who just gets absolutely crushed by life at every single turn,
but he keeps getting back up and refuses to quit, proving that humans can actually rise above whatever fate throws at them.

That would be a legit family drama, not some typical superhero movie... 😉

Man, I’ve been waiting for a thread like this...!!
So, I’m working on this comic book "hero" who’s super overweight and has acne-prone hair.
He’s constantly eating, and once he overindulges, he gets massive—he can pull huge leaps and has insane strength. I named him Nick, and his outfit features a logo I designed: a stylized capital N with a hamburger right in the middle. Once I actually find some free time, I'll get around to drawing it.🤣

Basically, love isn't some loud, obnoxious thing that screams "Hey, look at me, I'm love!" It's more subtle than that. People just feel it deep down, and that’s what draws them to certain people—they want to catch a spark of that same energy.

Long story short, you don't even need to drop His name in a story. People sense that divine presence regardless, because that kind of spiritual depth genuinely makes someone a better person.

Kudos to you, redskipper95. I must say, your perspective on the world and its various contents is quite enviable. That comic book idea is also excellent; perhaps just follow what dustywolf13 suggested (assuming he actually did😕). I shall certainly make a point to visit your blog!!

A few years back, when I was maybe 17 or 18, I started sketching out this story about a guy everyone calls Jimmy Carter.
So, here's the deal: Jimmy Carter is this charismatic dude whose ancestors migrated from some province in Spain over to Israel, which serves as the "epicenter" of the revolution. Plus, it's this little nation that’s basically looting itself to stay afloat, both economically and militarily—kind of like how a failing state might struggle to keep its head above water without any actual resources left to grab 🙂...
But look, we're talking about the year 2041, and the world has split into two main factions (well, more than two, but those are the big ones)

Part one of the story (the short part) covers Jimmy Carter’s childhood (born in Spain in 2019), what pulled him into politics, the splits within the parties, and all that stuff... while he, along with his brother Oscar Wilde and his college buddy Malik Wilk, starts cooking up the idea for their own political party. Since he's the main protagonist, obviously, he's a bit of a rebel type—he plays guitar, jams with picks at college, occasionally blows a trumpet, and definitely enjoys the relaxing effects of some cannabis sativa
. Part two kicks in when the political party fails to make any real headway, leading him to spark a revolution after the chaos in New York 2043. He’s working alongside Malik Wilk (and Oscar is there too, though he hesitates at first). After the revolution gets crushed pretty quickly, Jimmy escapes from prison as a political prisoner, and by 2049, he manages to pull enough funding together to raise an army and launch the revolution once more. This time, he actually knows what he's doing, and the fact that the global situation is incredibly unstable works in his favor
. Part three starts with a war where Jimmy Carter steps up as one of the key commanders of the resistance and the leader of the revolution. At first, they're just hiding out in trenches and foxholes, but as time passes, he shifts from being seen as a traitor to becoming a national hero. Malik Wilk (yeah, WIKLUH sky was the inspiration for his last name because "Nigrutin" didn't sound quite right) ends up dying alongside his brother and half the original crew he started with
. By 2060, the war—which had spiraled from a global conflict down to a civil war—finally ends. Carter rules until he's 71, when an assassination attempt happens. In his final moments of agony, he asks himself: FOR WHAT THE HELL WAS I EVEN FIGHTING?

Now, since I was mostly under the influence of various substances back then, the dialogue ended up being pretty disjointed toward the end, and some of the details were kind of childish and reckless. I also ended up tossing about 100 pages of the comic in the trash (and I didn't pay much attention to anatomy either; everyone looked like a 6-foot-tall Superman, which honestly just annoyed me)

-So, I don't think it's a bad concept, but it needs a lot of polishing. Superheroes don't sell like they used to; people care more about the everyday struggles of a regular person now... think about that.
