Does anyone happen to know where I can grab the software for these speakers? I managed to lose the original CD—classic me—and I'm in a bit of a pinch needing the drivers. Thanks in advance! 😉

Hey there, cosmicgardener81...🙂
Speaker drivers don't actually exist!
Are you maybe thinking of sound card drivers—or something else entirely?
You can plug those same speakers into a line-in jack, an MP3 player, or whatever else you've got lying around—so how exactly would you "install" a driver for them?

Speakers don't use drivers.
You're probably thinking of sound card drivers or something similar.
You can plug those speakers into a line-in jack, an MP3 player, or whatever else—how would you even "install" a driver for them?

My bad—I don't need a driver, I just need the software. A friend of mine lost the CD that came with them, and now he's convinced they won't work without it.

Anyway, if that "cosmic pig" comment was aimed at me, sorry—I totally missed the joke...

Wait, what is that software even for? I’ve never heard of needing some specific program just to run speakers—especially not when you're talking about gear that costs $100-$$50.

Trust me, I’m hearing about this whole software drama for the first time too...
It honestly made zero sense when he was explaining it to me. I couldn't even see what he was talking about—he was just walking me through the issue over the phone. He mentioned finding some random program online that he couldn't even download or something like that...

I was hoping maybe a few people here would disagree with me, but apparently not... 🙂

Man, please—he should just buy a decent set of speakers like everyone else does. Instead, he’s out here making things way more complicated than they need to be...

Speaker drivers? 😂 🤣 😂 🤣

A buddy of mine actually owns those speakers. $50? 😂 He paid for them $17 but they aren't Mercury.

What you're looking at might be a sound card driver or perhaps some specific software, but as far as actual speaker drivers go, no.

The thing is, you won't get any audio at all if you haven't installed the sound card drivers. Period. And those are what you need to find drivers for.

That might be a sound card driver or some software—but for actual speakers? No.

You won't get any audio at all without the sound card driver installed. Period. And you definitely need drivers for that.

Don't worry, I'm well aware you need a driver for the sound card... Honestly, it doesn't even matter anymore. I just told him to go ahead and grab a new pair if these aren't cutting it...

Thnx everyone for the help!

Thanks for the help, everyone!

Haha, figured it out all on my own anyway😂😂😂😂

Thanks for all the help, everyone!

I'm male (this is my cat's account 😂🤣 )

What exactly isn't working? If he could give me a bit more detail on the issue, that would be great. I've taken apart speakers like these plenty of times before; there might be a hardware issue inside. Tell him to try plugging them into an iPod, a portable CD player, or even a Walkman—anything else. If they still don't work, then the problem is definitely internal.

Sorry, I didn't quite catch that. 😁
I actually assumed you were a woman because of your username.
Anyway, forget about him—it's really not worth the energy, especially since he just went out and bought those $2,000 speakers instead. He was probably only messing around earlier because he didn't have anything better to listen to. Just let it go...
Thnx for the help!

What on earth are these numbers supposed to be: 128736128369123 ??

On another note, did he realize he doesn't actually need a driver? He could probably just fix up those speakers so they work for an MP3 player, a Disman, or whatever else he’s got lying around. Personally, whenever I head out for a ski trip, I always make sure to pack my own speakers so I can just hook them up to my MP3 player and listen to my music.

I always pack my own speakers when I head out to the mountains for a ski trip—just plug them into my MP3 player and call it a day.

My bad—I should've hit "enter" after those numbers... like, way more than once...
idk, I'm losing my ability to communicate at this point... lol...
