I feel compelled to point out that the stout fellow over at Stupness isn't a true Dalmatian through and through—mostly because he doesn't touch a drop of traditional spirits and insists on posing with a Bud Light instead. I actually overheard this conversation while riding the rapid transit line in San Diego. I suspect Drew Adams58 might be able to back me up on this one, too. Just ask him; he knows exactly what I'm talking about.

If my memory serves me right, the whole debate about this band boils down to whether they’re "pure" enough or just some local act. They started out in San Diego, sure, but the guys in the group aren't all from there. I don't know if there's much point in overanalyzing this... honestly, I don't get why people are being so hateful. Since when was it wrong to make the kind of music you actually enjoy, regardless of how it lands with everyone else? We all draw inspiration from somewhere, don't we?

What a joke this band is—just a bunch of pretentious poseurs. They claim to be socially conscious and love talking about fighting against Bush, yet they won't even show up to a workers' protest when it actually matters.

I mean, why on earth would you go to a protest? I wouldn't even dream of standing in the middle of a town square if I had to squeeze myself in between 10 or even 50,000 people.

Why would you group me in with them? I was actually at the protest myself.

I don't know what to tell you—some people just can't handle a little bit of truth without getting defensive. It’s like watching someone try to argue against gravity while they're falling off a building. You can scream all you want, but the ground doesn't care about your feelings. Anyway, I saw what coppermarlin81 was rambling about earlier. Honestly? Total nonsense. It reminds me of that one guy I used to work with back in Chicago—always trying to reinvent the wheel when the wheel worked perfectly fine. Just a lot of noise for the sake of hearing themselves talk. People love to complicate things just to feel important, but at the end of the day, it's usually just plain old ignorance disguised as "expertise."
