So,
out of nowhere, I’ve noticed this weird change on my cheek—just a single white line on one side—and my tongue feels a bit rough, almost like it's been sandpapered on both sides.

Now, being a recent dental school grad, I can pretty much narrow down the culprits:
- some bad habits (which I swear I don't have!)
- irritating fillings, crowns, or prosthetics (none of which I'm wearing!)
- or maybe nocturnal bruxism triggered by stress... though honestly, besides waiting for my retirement fund to actually kick in, I don't have any major issues. Maybe just those typical, suppressed student jitters we all deal with...

Since the treatment usually depends on the cause (those habits), what should I prescribe myself here?!

...Or should I just try finding a girlfriend instead?

Thanks!

🙂

Real dental student here. 🙂
It’s the classic med school trap—you read about a symptom and suddenly you’re convinced you have it. Honestly, even when I’m looking down throats at the clinic, seeing tooth indentations on the inside of someone's cheek... it doesn't phase me, and it shouldn't phase the patient either. Good luck with the studies...

Are you actually flossing? It’s the number one reason people deal with gum irritation and gingivitis. Not to scare you, but there's a real link between gum disease and issues like heart valve problems or coronary artery disease. Just some food for thought...
