...how can we actually wake up feeling healthy, rested, and genuinely ready to tackle the day, instead of feeling like we absolutely loathe the world, our lives, and our jobs? Personally, I’m constantly battling low blood pressure, and let me tell you, if I don’t get at least eight hours of solid, uninterrupted, high-quality sleep, I am completely useless. Getting anything less than those eight hours leads to these terrifying crashes, an incredibly brutal struggle just to get out of bed, zero focus, and then—to make matters worse—fainting spells and splitting headaches. It gets even more intense during my period, too. How many hours of shut-eye are you all actually getting?

Ideally I’d get more, but I usually pull less than that—sometimes I'm getting 5-6 hours, other times maybe 7-8.

If I get 8 hours, I’m alright—but if I hit 9, I feel like I'm flying high.

The weird thing though... when I try to sleep from midnight to 7 AM, I wake up feeling totally wrecked, but if I pull a 2 AM to 9 AM shift instead, I actually feel fine.😕

Susan Thompson75 said:For me, nine hours would be the dream. Honestly, I usually get less than that. Some nights I’m lucky to get five or six, other times I manage seven or eight.

I think getting nine or ten hours would be perfect for me. But man, how do you actually function after only five or six hours of sleep?

9 would be great—though I guess I’d settle for an 8.

Look, there is no such thing as enough sleep for me. Twenty hours? Honestly, I could probably go for twenty hours and still feel like I just closed my eyes for a second.

I really need to hit that 9 or 9.5 mark—maybe an 8 if I’m feeling lucky, I suppose? Anything 7 or lower, and things get... complicated. I’m talking muscle and joint aches, nausea, constant thirst, feeling overheated, and that relentless stomach acid—it’s quite unpleasant. There’s also polyuria, which isn't exactly extreme, but certainly enough to be irritating, don't you think? My cognitive function and concentration? Well, they’re practically buried two miles underground at that point. Then there’s the irritability, the lethargy, and those sporadic bouts of (hypo)mania—honestly, it’s enough to make one shudder! I feel like a sensitive little mimosa plant; I just have to constantly fidget and move. But the absolute worst part? It’s when those total freaks—you know the type, people who think getting two or three hours of sleep is plenty—start looking at me like I'm some sort of shut-in retiree.

I’ve been getting about 7 or 8 hours of sleep lately, but I can tell my body is still craving closer to 9 or 10

I need nine hours in a dark yet airy room filled with soft, oversized pillows, otherwise... 🙂

Some nights I sleep for twelve hours straight—and no, it’s not the bourbon... other times, the voices just won't stop for three days...

I've been absolutely crushing it on just 4 to 6 hours of sleep for about three weeks now.
But I know it’s just a phase... I'll probably be crawling back to my usual 8 or 9 hours pretty soon... it feels totally gross when I'm running on empty for too long.
Everything feels like it's in slow motion, almost like I'm floating outside my own body... like I'm listening to someone else's voice, which is actually kinda trippy... plus, my pain tolerance is through the roof, it's like my body doesn't even belong to me anymore.
