How to run macOS on a non-Apple PC?

Can you actually install macOS on a non-Apple laptop? I know for a fact that you can run Windows XP on Apple computers that use Intel processors. So, logically, can we flip the script and do the opposite? If so, how does one even go about it?

I’ve run into a bit of a snag while trying to install macOS. Once the welcome screen pops up, I hit utilities and jump straight into Disk Utility. The thing is, the partition I set up just isn't showing up at all. I tried formatting it as NTFS and even tried a few other things, but nothing works—it simply won't recognize it. All I can see is the DVD.

I'm actually dealing with the exact same thing...
I went ahead and created a 20GB partition formatted as FAT, but the installer is acting the same way as hers—it's only detecting the disc drive and nothing else.

Need a SATA driver?

Yeah.

I’ve messed around with VMware workstation before—just Google it if you need more info—and there are plenty of pre-made "images" floating around online with macOS already installed. Honestly? It’s nothing more than getting a VM up and running. Sure, it looks fine, but let’s be real: it’s never going to be fully stable or 100% functional. Windows is Windows, and PC is PC.
