Spotting before my period: Is this normal?

Sometimes, I get this weird thing happening where about ten days before my period actually starts—just for maybe two or three days—I notice some light spotting down there... 😬

Aside from that, I’m not feeling anything else at all—no cramping, no burning when I go to the bathroom, nothing... everything else feels totally normal...

Has anyone else dealt with something like this?

...Honestly, that sounds like it could just be some light spotting during ovulation. It happens to me too, though I've gotten pretty used to it by now. My doctor says I'm highly fertile, so this just seems to be one of those things that happens occasionally.👍

I’ll need you to let me know how old you are first. For older women, unexpected bleeding can sometimes be a red flag that needs attention, whereas it's much less common in younger women.
It could simply be a minor hormonal imbalance, perhaps slightly low progesterone, but it isn't necessarily anything dire. Of course, as I mentioned, if you are an older woman navigating menopause, then we have to take it more seriously.

I’ve been seeing blood on the toilet paper when I pee for the last three days—nothing else in between, though. I'm 24 and this has honestly never happened to me before! My period ended about two weeks ago, and just a heads up, I haven't been on birth control for three months now.

Honestly, spotting like that could be a million different things, so there’s really zero point in just guessing: it might be some super normal ovulation spotting (kind of like how you might bleed a little after sex right before your period hits), or it could be something else entirely like cervical ectropion, a polyp, or even just some minor physical irritation... and I haven't even started listing stuff yet.

Just go see an OBGYN and get it sorted out.

What kind of searches should I be running to find stuff worth ordering?
